Cloverfrost was the first cat to realize Hawthorntail might be deaf, after overhearing Hawthorntail's aunt, Burntstep, share some frustrations with raising them. She helped teach Hawthorntail sign language as a kit and acted as a secondary mentor during their apprenticeship. Cloverfrost has been a pseudo-warrior for nearly 30 moons due to chronic illness, and is beginning to consider actual retirement. Her brother is Marigoldclaw, mentioned below.

All of Cloverfrost's details, aside from what's listed above, are up to the adopter! This includes name, gender, appearance, etc. She should have a good relationship with Hawthorntail, though maybe a distant one since they started pursuing historian training more intensely.

Marigoldclaw was an apprentice when he lost his hearing due to severe sickness. He recovered well enough to continue his warrior training, though was set back by a moon as he adjusted to life as a deaf cat. Hawthorntail was his first apprentice. He is Cloverfrost's brother and has no interest in retiring any time soon.

All other details are up to the adopter! This includes name, gender, appearance, etc. I imagined him as being a pretty devout cat, but that's up to you if you'd like to go with that. Additionally, I imagine Marigoldclaw wants Hawthorntail to regard him as a father-figure, but has never really known how to approach that conversation.

Ravenwhisker is a historian apprentice and a good friend of Hawthorntail's. Though he once had aspirations to being the historian himself, over time, Ravenwhisker came to believe Hawthorntail was a better fit. Still, they maintain a friendly level of academic rivalry, even after Hawthorntail's promotion.

This cat is not named in Hawthorntail's bio, rather, this serves as an open role for an academic rival! This cat was tapped to be a historian apprentice around the same time Hawthorntail was. They're about Hawthorntail's age, but a few moons older. The two of them have been good friends, with a heavy dose of rivalry, for most of the time they've known each other. However, unlike Ravenwhisker, this cat is angry Hawthorntail was chosen over them. Why weren't they good enough? Aren't they older? More knowledgeable? It's frustrating for a younger cat to be picked! Did the previous historian even really like teaching them?

The plan for this role is for the two to have a fallout driven by the rival's jealousy, and then slow recovery to being friends again.

After witnessing their brother's abusive relationship, Hawthorntail is now a little frightened of the idea of getting in a relationship. At the same time, the older they get, the more they crave that sort of connection. Below are three options for romance.

1. Friends to lovers. Overtime, Hawthorntail and one of their close friends develop romantic feelings for each other. Very open ended and definitely the easiest way to help Hawthorn relax their nerves around romance.

2. Rivals to lovers. The academic rival described above goes from friendly rivals, to antagonistic rivals, to friends again, and then lovers.

3. A cross-clan romance. Hawthorntail views themself as a historian for all the forest, not just MistClan, and so it would be easy for them to forge a connection with someone from outside of their clan! They could potentially even fall for someone outside of the clans in general. A funny (but serious) suggestion for a non-clan option is Hawthorne from Grey's wanted ad.

The only requirement is the cat is roughly Hawthorntail's age (18 - 40 moons) and they are a tom/masc leaning.
