site plot
After war, there should have been peace. Things have not been so simple since the holy battle started by RidgeClan and ended by the combined efforts of PrairieClan and MistClan.
With entirely new leadership, RidgeClan struggles with rebuilding a divided Clan. Cats argue whether the war was wrong or if their late leader just wasn't the right cat to carry it out. Others see a deeper issue, a poisoned Clan that can only be fixed by tearing it apart and building anew.
MistClan, devastated by the war in their territory, wavers between retaining their independent identity and accepting help from others. Weakened, they feel pressure on all sides, and when kits begin to go missing, it seems danger has once again crossed over their borders.
In the rolling plains of their territory, PrairieClan has become the dominant force in the valley for the first time in history. Do they use their newfound strength to help their neighboring Clans? Others argue that they should use it to help themselves, to ensure they do not struggle like their weakened neighbors.
Trouble is not restricted to the Clans. Beyond their borders, a young loner sees the destruction the Clans have brought themselves. To him, the three Clans are a blight on the valley, something to be carved out and destroyed.
Our site plot begins with the three Clans, rooted in different traditions, that have experienced a monumental shift of power. Those that were viewed as strong have become weak, while strength has found those not used to wielding it. All groups face identity issues, the question of changing their ways to embrace the aftermath of war or to stay rooted in what has worked in the past. A breaking point is coming, and no cat knows what the future will hold.
Below is a description of each group's role in the site plot. Plot related threads and their summaries will ben added as the roleplay progresses. More details for the three Clans and the Clanless cats can be found in their wanted ad, which summarizes popular viewpoints and how those opinions can shape the future of the Clan and valley. Our timeline also summarizes important events for all groups.

RIDGECLAN | plot adoptables When Wolfstar rose to leadership, none expected the extremism that lay behind his gentle charisma. While RidgeClan has always been particularly devoted to StarClan, Wolfstar, alongside his deputy and oracle, only escalated it, nurturing a sense of spiritual superiority in his Clan. The leaf-bare after his rise to power, lightning struck a tree in the upper hills, creating a bridge between RidgeClan's territory and MistClan. Interpreting this as a sign from StarClan, Wolfstar later launched an attack against MistClan to claim the Moonpool. The sturdy mountain warriors were still healthy even in the depths of winter, and were on the cusp of winning when a battle party from PrairieClan arrived. The battle ended abruptly when Wolfstar lost a life in the fray. RidgeClan retreated, but Wolfstar died in camp of his remaining injuries. The other Clans demanded that their role of oracle be dissolved to prevent anything like this from happening again. Now with completely new leadership, no oracle, and no idea of who killed Wolfstar, tensions are high in RidgeClan. Conspiracies arise that the other two Clans are united against them and had plotted to murder their leader. At the same time, others simply want to move on peacefully and put RidgeClan's recent dark history behind them. |
PRAIRIECAN | plot adoptables After the battle against Wolfstar's uprising, PrairieClan expected to be on positive terms with MistClan. Despite the meadow Clan's extension of friendship, however, MistClan only withdraws. Awkwardness springs between the two Clans as neither seem to know how to interact with each other, and tensions mount after a confrontation on the border. If anything, the battle has only made their relationship with MistClan worse. Feeling snubbed after they fought to help them, many PrairieClan cats have taken an unfavorable view of their neighbors. What's more, a sect of Clanless cats have begun to settle in the abandoned cabin on their territory. While these cats have made no secret of their anti-Clan views, they seem to hold less animosity towards the typically-friendly PrairieClan. PrairieClan, however, feels the increasing pressure of having such a group settle on their territory, and leadership is discussing if they should ask the sect to relocate to the barn, or if that would make enemies of them. Views on their neighbors become divided. Some cats believe they should evict the Clanless sect and keep their distance from MistClan, while others see more value in cultivating friendship even if it seems unwanted. |
MISTCLAN | plot adoptables While MistClan has always been the picture of serenity, noble and refined, chaos brews under the surface... Many lives were lost in the battle against Wolfstar and even more were injured, leaving the medicine cats exhausted and overworked. Leadership struggles to maintain their image and independence as RidgeClan hurls accusations that they're allied with PrairieClan, while PrairieClan seems to believe they've been insulted by MistClan's desire for privacy. And even as tension grows between them and their neighbors, strange scents in the territory suggest that loners are hunting on their land. Already feeling trapped by enemies on all sides, hysteria threatens to break out when kits go missing from the nursery. Many cats scream for action, blaming the other Clans or the loners that trespass on their territory, but leadership balks at the possibility of escalation so soon after the devastation of RidgeClan's attack. Some push for a true alliance with PrairieClan, believing that friendship is MistClan's best shot at survival. Others maintain that MistClan has always stood by their own ability, and an alliance would destroy their independence. Even as the Clan is torn on how to move forward, the danger that now lurks in the shadows threatens to overwhelm them. |
CLANLESS | plot adoptables While the Clans have thrived in the valley for as long as anyone can remember, cats without the security of Clans have struggled to survive. Many loners are travelers, moving on quickly when they discover the huge groups of cats living in the forests and plains, but others have found some sense of safety around the farm. While most loners are content living alone or in a small, constantly-changed group in the barn, others are starting to organize around the belief that the Clans are a detriment to the valley. Led by one cat with a vendetta against the Clans, many of these cats are banding together in one group to stand against the hoarding of territory and prey. The sect has settled in an abandoned cabin on one of the Clans' territories, but their relationship with PrairieClan—which has been largely neutral thanks to this clan's relaxed view on outsiders—is becoming strained because of it. Many of the barn cats believe the sect is making a mistake by pitting themselves against the Clans, and many arguments have sprung up between them as the sect attempts to recruit more cats to their cause. |
