petalshine
Petalshine is the sole daughter of Azaleathorn and her mate Stagbloosm(ufa). Her gender, name, and appearance are flexible. She should be about 20 moons old. While her family is heavily ginger coated, she does not have to be.
She's also the firstborn (as of writing this) great-grandchild of the giant Gingerfang family tree. Her mother was the firstborn of the grandchildren's generation, putting heavy expectations on Petalshine.
Heavy expectations that, at least as far as Azalea is concerned, her daughter has not met. From the beginning mother and daughter had a strained relationship. While Azalea and Stag genuinely love and care for each other, the choice to have a child resulted less from a want to mother and more following the path set by prior generations.
Petal has always taken more after her father, a kinder soul. Lacking the ambition and ferocity of her mother. As such Azalea wrote off any chance of her daughter making any real difference in Ridgeclan when she-cat was only an apprentice.
Petalshine is a fairly flexible character who could develop in any number of ways. Perhaps she is as ambitious as her mother, but simply better at concealing it. Perhaps she truly is a kindhearted soul not intending to rock the boat. Anything goes as long as nothing contradicts Azalea's bio.
While Azalea's opinion on her daughter is judgmental and less than ideal, how Petalshine feels is up to the adopter. Does she feel let down by her distant mother? Abandoned? Does she crave that validation, or did she find it elsewhere (perhaps with her father or grandmother)?
No matter what road Petal heads down, there's plenty of room for plotting between the two. Azalea is likely pushing her daughter to consider having a litter of her own, continuing the firstborn line. Perhaps Petal stands up to her mother, and the two eventually reconcile with the fact that Azalea was a poor mother who felt pushed into the role. Or perhaps she'll give in and try to appease her mother. Maybe she has a litter with a less than stellar tom, or even an outsider.
Petal is also free to move locations/clans/join the Kingdom once she's been adopted, as long as it occurs in roleplay.
As I've hopefully made clear this is a fairly open character with lots of wiggle room. I'm also very free to plot further on their relationship with any potential adopters.
