At the Gathering, Mushroomstar discovers that PrairieClan and MistClan may have a closer relationship as allies than originally anticipated, and shares this news with Toadfeather. Toadfeather stews on this, trying to decide how best to tackle the situation.

Leaf-Bare ['23]

Toadfeather learns his sibling may be receiving messages from StarClan. This is difficult for him to process, for numerous reasons, but he agrees to help them keep the secret, for now.
Laurelfern announces her departure from RidgeClan and her plans to form a new group, the Kingdom, at the Gathering. Toadfeather considers this both an incredible act of betrayal and something ridiculously foolish, but after some thinking believes there may be an advantage somewhere in not entirely rejecting the Kingdom.
The clan discusses their thoughts on the Kingdom; largely reaching the conclusion that most are (at least vocally) angry at the Kingdom cats for abandoning their clans.
As the cold grips the valley, food shortage becomes a serious concern.
Various warriors tell Toadfeather they've been catching scent of rogues or loners at the border.
Toadfeather and Rockscreech handle a badger on the border - a significantly easier problem to address than loners stumbling in, honestly.
Toadfeather meets Yennifer on the border and isn't sure what to make of him.

After agonizing over his mistakes, Foxflight knows it's time to finally apologize to Silverheart. He finds him in the elder's den and manages to convince him to give him a chance.
Foxflight remains on shaky, not-quite-friends, no longer not friends grounds with Silverheart. This takes up much of his attention - the clan could have gone to war a second time without his knowledge entirely, he was so focused on Silverheart. Near the end of the season, he receives Silverheart's friendship, so long as he can be patient.

Leaf-Bare ['23]

When Laurelfern departs from RidgeClan, Foxflight can't blame her, even if he himself doesn't wish to leave his clan. He hopes the best for the Kingdom, even if that's an unpopular perspective among his clan mates.
Silverheart returns to the warriors den. He and Foxflight are much more solidly friends at this point.
Foxflight catches scent of blood near the river. Later, elsewhere, it is discovered that Littlestar, of PrairieClan, is dead. Foxflight falls into the river and nearly dies from hypothermia and blood loss, but is discovered by Silverheart and Shadowgaze in time for someone to alert Rainstorm, the medicine cat.
