clanless plot adoptables
Even outside the Clans, trouble is brewing.
While life for cats at the barn has been peaceful for many moons, sheltering loners and maintaining a positive relationship with the neighboring PrairieClan, one cat has splintered off from them with strong opinions towards the clans.
Foxglove insists that the valley would be better off without the Clans hoarding territory, prey, and precious resources, and that it's time for Clanless cats to take a stand against them. Many agree, fueled by a passionate sense of justice and balance, and others take a stand at his side simply for the practicality of having a group to help support them.
The barn cats balk at the sudden existence of an anti-Clan sect in the valley, looking to each other with exasperation and a steadily growing dread. If the Clans retaliate against Foxglove's hostility, will it just be the sect that reaps the consequences, or will it be all of them?
Refugees arriving at the barn only stoke the flames further, bringing tales of bloodshed and holy wars.
Meanwhile, cats unaligned with any groups flit around the edges of conflict. Some only wish to mind their own business, but others see what potential could present itself if the clans were to crumble. Trespassing on Clan territory is the least they can do to increase the pressure, though some have taken to more extreme measures.

JUSTICE | ∞ Many cats feel wronged by the Clans, whether they were turned away in times of need, chased off, injured by warriors, or even lost loved ones who chose Clan life over a loner's life of independence. Cats of Justice are passionately anti-Clan, jumping at the opportunity to join Foxglove's sect at the cabin. Some believe them to be too volatile, but Justice sees more value in action than wasting time with lengthy discussions and squabbles. The clans have hoarded territory, prey, and resources in the valley unchallenged for far too long. Justice sees the need for rising to the occasion and asserting the rights of the Clanless to exist in prosperity as well. |
FORTITUDE | ∞ Many cats of Fortitude have also allied themselves with Foxglove, but lack the intensity of Justice. While these cats don't necessarily feel wronged by the Clans in the same way, some find more security in a united front of cats who don't have a Clan at their back. Others simply wish to temper the flames of Justice within the sect to avoid the escalation of conflict—whether with the Clans or with the other Clanless who disagree with Foxglove's crusade. Fortitude believes in standing firm, mitigating conflict where they can and weathering it when they can't. While power in the valley is certainly unbalanced in favor of the Clans, any sudden upheaval will destabilize everyone—Clan and Clanless alike. |
TEMPERANCE | ∞ Many cats of Temperance have made a life for themselves in the barn, coexisting peacefully both with the loners who stay and the ones just passing through. Whether or not they have been wronged by the Clans in any way, they see wisdom in maintaining the balance of peace in the valley. Both barn cats and the Clans have been here as long as any can remember. Their relationship with PrairieClan is especially good, with envoys of both parties visiting each other regularly to share tongues and trade knowledge and essential herbs. While they disagree with Foxglove's sect and their vendetta against the Clans, Temperance tries not to involve themselves with pointless arguments and focuses instead on maintaining their relationship with PrairieClan, hoping all of this anti-Clan foolishness will blow over soon. |
PRUDENCE | ∞ Unlike Temperance's passive approach in letting everything work itself out, Prudence turns more of a shrewd eye on the situation. Foxglove's little crusade is foolish, yes, but also has the capability of spelling out disaster for all Clanless cats in the valley. When the Clans grow weary of Foxglove's antagonism, they may find it simpler to drive every other cat away from their territories—including the barn cats. Prudence frequently confronts Foxglove's sect about the potential disaster they'll bring on the Clanless, sparking arguments and fights between the two groups as neither back down from their stances. The more passionate cats of Prudence believe that taking down Foxglove's sect is the only way to prevent more, bigger problems with the Clans, and in their practicality may resort to any means necessary to stop them. |
LAWLESS | ∞ Even as the barn cats and Foxglove's sect divide themselves, some cats remain on the fringes. They align themselves with neither cause, preferring to walk their own paths and make their own decisions. Opinions on the groups vary, ranging widely from judgement, envy, disdain, or even amusement. Some Lawless cats have recently started trespassing on MistClan's territory, whether for prey or curiosity, though some have their own intentions of causing problems and escalating the conflict between the Clans and Clanless. This can be for personal gain as the distraction makes it easier to take prey from Clan territory, or simply because they're tired of the current power structure and want these groups to just crumble already. It's possible that one or more of the Lawless has stolen kits from MistClan in an attempt to spark more conflict. |
REFUGEES | Open: 5/5 Not all cats in RidgeClan agreed with the direction of Wolfstar's leadership. Whatever their final straw was, or whether it was before or after the battle with MistClan, these cats have chosen to leave RidgeClan behind and take refuge with the barn cats. Some may seek only a peaceful life outside of Clan politics, while others might be waiting for the storm to blow over before they consider returning home. It's also possible that, horrified by the brutality they've witnessed in the Clans, some have rejected the ways of Clan life entirely. To these, Foxglove's crusade against the Clans presents an appealing opportunity for a future without such vicious warmongering. |
