prairieclan plot views
From the outside, PrairieClan is presented as the more carefree of the three Clans, cooperative and openly friendly. But, like every Clan, they have their divisions.
The battle against Wolfstar has given rise to a sense of strength in the Clan that's still recovering from a devastating bout of greencough. With brewing confidence, cats become divided on whether they should use their strength to help their neighbors or drive out the Clanless sect on their territory in order to protect their Clanmates.
Tensions spark further between them and MistClan as some of their clanmates start an altercation on the border. This furthers the division in PrairieClan as some agree with pushing for independence, while some just see it as picking fights where they shouldn't.
In addition, some refugees from RidgeClan have come to the meadows to seek out a more peaceful life. New struggles present themselves, however, as these refugees are met with a mixture of opinions from sympathy to suspicion. Cats of PrairieClan seem largely unsure what to think of their Clanmates and whether they should be cautious about Clan secrets if the refugees ever return to RidgeClan.

HEATHER | ∞ Cats aligned with the mindset of Heather have a strong sense of independence, either based on recent events or already rooted in their personality. This battle was the first in many seasons for PrairieClan, and with many cats still recovering from the last bout of greencough, they reason that it’s most important to focus on their own Clan and not involve themselves with messy politics. PrairieClan has its own problems to deal with, and they can deal with them themselves. |
AMARYLLIS | ∞ In the past, other Clans have seen PrairieClan as lackadaisical, irresponsible, and overly friendly with outsiders. Cats aligned with Amaryllis resent this, and with MistClan’s callous rejection of their aid, they believe it’s time to push back and assert themselves as a strong Clan in their own right. These cats push for chasing the Clanless out, understanding the need for PrairieClan to stand up for itself, and wish to lift up their Clanmates with their own sense of confidence and pride. |
PEONY | ∞ To cats of the Peony, PrairieClan has always thrived on its dignity, compassion, and honor. The recent battle changes nothing; the Clans have always had their momentary squabbles, and the important thing now is to reach out, rekindle peace and prosperity between the three Clans, and help both MistClan and RidgeClan get back on their feet and move past the extremism that led to this battle. PrairieClan is strong, and that means a better ability to aid the cats around them. |
SAGE | ∞ While kind, cats of the Sage are practical. They recognize the virtues of their home and wish to preserve them with more subtlety than the sometimes aggressive pride of the Amaryllis. They understand that PrairieClan’s current position is a powerful one, their strength now obvious to the other Clans; with this strength they can help RidgeClan recover from the chaotic leadership of Wolfstar… and it wouldn’t hurt to have the mountain Clan in their debt. |
prairieclan's plot roles
THORNS | Open: 1/3 Thorns in the wild can be found in a myriad of places, and that holds true with these cats. Whether swayed by the pride of Amaryllis, or acting with what they believe to be the practicality of Sage, these cats have a tendency towards aggression to solve their problems. This aggression was recently demonstrated in a fight on the MistClan border. While Thorns intend to protect the larger plant, they can often hurt those around them or even themselves. |
BUDS | Open: 1/3 Transplanting can be stressful for any plant, leaving behind everything it's known and attempting to settle in new foundations. Cats who have fled RidgeClan have come to know this struggle. Whether they left RidgeClan before the battle or after, what their reasons for leaving were, and whether they intend to one day return to their birth Clan, cats of the Buds are trying to make themselves at home in PrairieClan. While they've chosen one the more welcoming Clan to join, they still find themselves facing suspicion from some—especially those who still bear the wounds from battle. Others are more kind, extending the olive branch of hospitality, but whether Buds will truly take root in PrairieClan can only be answered by time. |
STEM | Rosethorn The Stem of PrairieClan disapproves of how accepting their Clanmates are. They believe their Clanmates are too trusting and need to have more cynical mindsets when dealing with the other Clans and outsiders. In their opinion, those who are not pure-blooded PrairieClan cats do not belong in PrairieClan. Any cat who wasn’t born in PrairieClan doesn’t deserve to be part of it. This cat likely aligns with Heather or Amaryllis in PrairieClan’s plot adoptables, but they may also affiliate with Sage or be a Thorn. |
PETAL | Basilheart This cat sympathizes with those who have sought out asylum in PrairieClan and believes anyone who can dedicate themselves to PrairieClan deserves to join, even if they’d once been loyal to another group. Cats change all the time - why should they be denied a second chance, a better life? And so the Petal advocates for the acceptance of new arrivals. This view may even extend to push for peace with their Clanless neighbors. The cat who fills this role probably allies themself with Peony, but they could relate to Sage and they might even be a Bud themself. |
SEED | Cinderstar Finding it to be a hazardous duty, the Seed calls for the prohibition of tunneling. They have only their Clanmates’ safety in mind and stand firm even as those who disagree argue against them. They might have experience in the tunnels and have been in a perilous situation themself or lost someone to them, or they might have little to no experience in the tunnels and simply think they’re too unpredictable for anyone to use. The Seed can align with any role in PrairieClan’s plot adoptables, but they may relate best to Heather, cats who believe PrairieClan has its own problems to focus on. |
SPROUT | Mousestep PrairieClan’s Sprout is likely a tunneler, but might also be someone who just really appreciates the art of tunneling. They believe tunneling is a useful skill and that the tunnelers of PrairieClan know exactly what they’re doing. The Sprout doesn’t want to prevent their Clanmates from doing what they love or lose the benefits that come with their clans’ unique role, a benefit that was recently shown during the battle. This cat can probably fit into any of PrairieClan’s plot adoptable roles, but there’s a chance they might connect with Heather more than any other. |
POLLEN | Wheatpaw This cat may be tired of how PrairieClan is dealing with the Clanless issue or they might even just want to be able to claim they’re why the Clanless are gone. Whatever the reason, Pollen has taken it upon themselves to handle the outsider problem on their own, whether that be in an assertive and hostile way or a more subtle strategy. If desired, this plot role can lead to severe injury or even death for Pollen. The role Pollen aligns with best would be Amaryllis, those who believe PrairieClan needs to prove their strength and independence, possibly by chasing out the Clanless. |
