ridgeclan policies mushroomstar
— THE WARRIOR CODE
The warrior code, in Mushroomstar’s opinion, is what separates clan cats from rogues. He follows it strictly and encourages his clanmates to do the same. He believes some parts of the code are more important than others, though that doesn’t mean the less important rules should be ignored. His opinion of those who break the code will depend on which rule they’ve broken. For example, Mushroomstar thinks those who neglect a kit in need deserve far less respect and a harsher punishment than newly-named warriors who speak during their vigil.
— STARCLAN & THE DARK FOREST
Chosen by StarClan themselves to lead RidgeClan, Mushroomstar feels a lot of pressure to prove to his ancestors that they were right to pick him. He has a great deal of respect for StarClan and hopes to make his ancestors proud. As for the Dark Forest, Mushroomstar can think of no place worse. The very thought of The Place of No Stars fills him with fear. He tries to live his life in a way that’ll end with him in StarClan and not The Dark Forest.
— FORBIDDEN RELATIONSHIPS
Mushroomstar doesn’t approve of cross-group relationships. While he understands that feelings aren’t something a cat can choose to feel or not, a cat can decide what to do with those feelings. No cat’s loyalties should be torn between two clans, for both their own sake and their clanmates’. Upon learning about a cross-group relationship involving a clanmate, Mushroomstar will likely burden them with a lengthy and severe punishment, like demoting them to apprentice rank and/or assigning them all the worst chores. They must prove themselves to the clan again. If kits have resulted from the relationship, Mushroomstar will claim them as RidgeClan kits and they will be treated as such. The kits are not at fault for their parents’ mistakes. If the kits were born elsewhere, he will do his best to relocate them to RidgeClan.
— OUTSIDERS
Mushroomstar is mostly hostile toward outsiders. If they dare to step over the border, they will be chased away and if they request to join RidgeClan, they will most likely be rejected. Exceptions might be made for some, but that’s incredibly rare. Injured or sick outsiders may be told to seek help elsewhere, depending on the severity of their wounds or illness.
— OTHER GROUPS
Mushroomstar feels an awful lot like it’s RidgeClan against the world. While he’s aware that RidgeClan would benefit from an alliance or two, he’d be wary of any group who would want to associate with them. After all, who would want to partner with the valley pariah? He’s not completely opposed to the idea of RidgeClan standing alone, though. The thought of distancing themselves even more from other groups is terrifying, but it’s also rather enticing. As for war, Mushroomstar would do whatever he could to avoid it. RidgeClan suffered the most from Wolfstar’s war and he’d never put his clanmates through anything like that ever again. However, he understands that sometimes, war is inevitable.
— ACCEPTING NEW MEMBERS
Outsiders have a greater chance of joining RidgeClan than cats from another group do, but even for rogues, kittypets, and loners, the chances are slim. Mushroomstar doesn’t trust easily, but if a cat does manage to earn his approval to join RidgeClan, they will have a rough path ahead of them. Those who are apprentice age and younger are more likely to be accepted into RidgeClan than older cats. Whoever does manage to join RidgeClan will have a rough path ahead of them, even the young ones, as they will have to work twice as hard as RidgeClan-born cats to prove themselves to not only Mushroomstar, but the rest of the clan as well. There is a trial period where the joining cat must prove their loyalty to RidgeClan and until they do, they will not be considered a full member of the clan.
toadfeather
— THE WARRIOR CODE
In general, Toadfeather believes in observance to the warrior code, with only some exceptions. Those exceptions are usually strategic in nature. He is opposed to breaking of the code in terms of harming a clan mate or killing a warrior from another clan, however, and would strongly implore his leader to seek justice for those wronged. If it's only a minor interaction, his opinion of a good warrior who breaks the code will not waver terribly, especially if they have a justifiable reason.
— STARCLAN & THE DARK FOREST
Like Wolfstar, Toadfeather believes RidgeClan to be the most favored of StarClan. However, his fanaticism is more that he wants to position RidgeClan in such a way that the other clans need them and view them as a guiding paternal hand. These are not feelings he's expressed to anyone; on the outside he has relatively typical views on StarClan. For RidgeClan, he would support bringing the oracle position back, if that was the will of StarClan.
— FORBIDDEN RELATIONSHIPS
Toadfeather is about to be a hypocrite, but he is firmly against forbidden relationships, as they divide loyalties. If kits are a result of the relationship, and they are born outside the clan, then the warrior in question has a choice to make: the relationship, or the clan. If they are born inside the clan, then he thinks they should keep their origin to themselves.
— OUTSIDERS
Toadfeather is firm but not necessarily hostile to outsiders. Lately, he's considering all avenues of support for RidgeClan, even those which aren't so traditional. In the wake of cats departing to join the Kingdom, he might not be so dismissive of accepting outsider aid.
— OTHER GROUPS
Toadfeather believes Wolfstar's war was a mistake that should not be repeated unless circumstances are dire. He would much rather see peace in the valley, though he knows his clan is in a difficult position in that regard. He's interested in disrupting alliances between groups that don't benefit them and forging new alliances to support balance in the valley. On the other hand, if other groups are unwilling to have future alliances with RidgeClan, he's not afraid of keeping a firm distance from the rest of the valley if that's really what is best for RidgeClan.
rainstorm
— MEDICINE CAT CODE
Rainstorm follows the medicine cat code. She’s not bothered by rules about not having kits or ignoring clan rivalries, and always tries to save lives. She doesn’t see much reason to break the code, and would be mainly confused or upset at those who do break it. Something like a medicine cat having kits would leave her upset but she’d understand and try to find a compromise. Something that results in others getting hurt or neglected however, she’d find unforgivable.
— STARCLAN & THE DARK FOREST
Rainstorm believes in and supports Starclan, she’s just not the best at being a spiritual guide. Prophecies and signs are tricky as Ridgeclan has shown in the past, can be bad for the clan. Rainstorm prefers being a healer over dealing with Starclan, and struggles with interpreting signs as the risk of misinterpretation weighs on her.
— TRADING RESOURCES
Rainstorm would happily trade herbs and offer help to anyone, regardless of clan or allegiance. Saving lives comes first, even if the cats in need are loners or enemies. Though she likely most often trades within the clans.
— HEALING OUTSIDERS
Rainstorm does not care about who a cat is or where they are from. If they’re injured and she can help, she will. She’d inform the leadership of any treatment for outsiders that require multiple days, and would fight for the right to keep them in her den until they recover.
frostpaw
— MEDICINE CAT CODE
Frostpaw is someone who will follow the code to heart, they would hesitate in breaking the code so goes against it. Seeing others break codes will make them feel it is a cowardly move but will not speak out up against it unless asked on for their opinion
— STARCLAN & THE DARK FOREST
Frostpaw believes in both, but strongly supports Starclan as they guide them, looking to them for answers if they need to or in the time of need
— TRADING RESOURCES
Frostpaw believes in helping others if it is necessary, they will give what recourses they can without lowering their own stocks if there is a time of desperate measures, this is in hopes of strengthening bonds between the clans instead of further fracturing the already broken bonds.
— HEALING OUTSIDERS
Frostpaw would if there is a need for it, if it’s in desperation they will help those in need, but if it’s a minor cut or bruise normally they won’t offer a paw since they know there are others who are capable of helping them. To them, it would be a waste of herbs if the outsider had small injuries versus fatal injuries.

— STUDENTS
What does your character look for in students? Are they likely to take on just a couple students or many?
— STARCLAN & THE DARK FOREST
What does your character think of their ancestors? Do they believe in StarClan and The Dark Forest? Which do they support?
— SHARING SPIRITUAL KNOWLEDGE
How likely is your character to share sacred information, like prophecies or signs, with other groups or even outsiders? Would they provide spiritual counsel to other groups or outsiders? What about within their own group?

prairieclan policies cinderstar
— THE WARRIOR CODE
Cinderstar is more strict on the code than past PrairieClan leaders may have been, mostly because she needs a little structure to guide her. Compared to other clans, she's very lax when it comes to the code, especially where it regards outsiders (though she holds some internal prejudice against kittypets, viewing them as soft [she does not view those with kittypet heritage this way]). She herself has never broken the code, except for moments in her youth where maybe she ate sooner than she should.
When it comes to others breaking the code, Cinderstar would have to consider it situationally. Code breaks that involve other cats getting hurt are a more serious offensive to her and will be dealt with harshly. She is especially serious about the parts of the code that involve caring for others. Elders and queens, injured cats of all clans and backgrounds, kit and young cats who need help - she believes practically everyone deserves a chance at peace, and doesn't tolerate her warriors that lash out without using their words first.
— STARCLAN & THE DARK FOREST
In Cinderstar's mind, her time in the tunnels has obscured her relationship with the stars, and she thinks this is unfortunate. She's not as religious as she thought she was, which she only realized when she stopped spending so much time underground. This lack of deep religious fervor applies to the Dark Forest, too. Of course she supports her ancestors in StarClan, but she struggles to really view the Dark Forest as anything more than an elder's tale. Even StarClan seemed more myth than fact to her until she was bestowed her nine lives.
— FORBIDDEN RELATIONSHIPS
Cross-clan romances leave a sour taste in Cindestar's mouth. She would never engage in one herself, no matter how the other cat made her feel. If a member of her clan was found to be in one, she would insist on that member joining their mate or having the mate join PrairieClan, regardless of the mate's origin (except for kittypets - she would hesitate to let one join). Cinderstar's concern is primarily that a cat cannot support their clan if their heart is elsewhere, and so their heart should be united with the heart of the one they love, even if that means losing a clanmate.
All kits born to PrairieClan parents, regardless of the other parent's origin, are considered PrairieClan kits to her.
— OUTSIDERS
Cinderstar is perfectly neutral to outsiders. Because of PrairieClan's long standing relationship with the Barn, she's very friendly with those cats. All other outsiders are treated neutrally until they prove themselves worthy of friendship or make themselves a threat.
— OTHER GROUPS
Cinderstar is a little more isolationist than PrairieClan has been in the past. She doesn't believe in completely pulling away from the other clans, but she does think PrairieClan has some problems to address before they start extending a helping hand to all the other groups. She's pro-alliance, but prefers alliances that are promises of peace, rather than alliances that require any aid.
In times of severe need, Cinderstar would be happy to help other groups, as she believes that's what the code encourages. This includes deadly famine, plague, and natural disasters.
Here is a ranking of her opinion on the other groups:
- Barn Cats. Very positive, is looking to seem more involved so they don't lose an ally.
- MistClan. Neutral-positive. Can feel some hostility coming from MistClan, but is hopeful their former alliance will prevail.
- Kingdom. Neutral. Truly has no idea what to expect here. Is maybe a little sour toward them because she doesn't like thinking of cats abandoning the clans, but also supports cats following their heart.
- RidgeClan. Neutral negative. Her opinion on RidgeClan has greatly improved under Mushroomstar's leadership, however, she still struggles to trust the clan after the violence Wolfstar wrought. She does not blame them for Littlestar's death because of how privy she was to Littlestar's mental collapse. That could change soon, though, if she learns of some other suspicious injuries that happened at the same time…
- Foxglove's group. Negative. These are her current enemies, and the biggest threat to her clan.
— ACCEPTING NEW MEMBERS
Outsiders are welcome under the following circumstances
- They are a Barn Cat or local loner with a good relationship with PrairieClan. This is especially true if they can hunt, have someone to vouch for them, and are willing to swear an oath to the warrior code.
- They are an elderly cat who needs a place to die gracefully. Cinderstar believes in taking care of all elders.
- They are a cat from a different clan who disagrees with something Cinderstar/PrairieClan at large also disagrees with.
- They are joining their mate in PrairieClan.
- They are young (under 10 moons).
All other outsiders are dealt with situationally.
Cinderstar requires all outsiders, except kits, join as "apprentices." If they are standard apprentice age (18 moons and under), they take the suffix -paw, train with a mentor, and live with other apprentices. If they're more like warrior age, she gives them the suffix "-pelt/fur" and assigns them a mentor. After a few moons, she may rename them, or they can request a new name.
Kits who join PrairieClan are raised as if they were born in the clan.
nettlefang
— THE WARRIOR CODE
Nettlefang is devoted to the warrior code, but moreso to her clan. She is willing to bend rules for the sake of Prairieclan's safety or best interests, but most of the time in her mind the code aligns with the clan. She favors some parts of the code over others, and her opinions on code breakers depend on the severity of the rules broken. Putting your clan first is of the upmost importance to her, and she would be more sympathetic to a new warrior caught whispering during their vigil than a clanmate found fraternizing with outsider cats.
— STARCLAN & THE DARK FOREST
Nettlefang believes in Starclan and the Dark Forest, but rather idly in their power. She thinks the world is for the living, and though she honors the dead, she does not think Starclan can affect the clans too much (aside from maybe giving the leaders their nine lives). She would never scoff at a medicine cat's visions or another cat's faith, but would not take their words or warnings especially seriously. She does not need some long-dead warrior thinking they know better telling her what to do—she has her own judgement, thank you very much.
— FORBIDDEN RELATIONSHIPS
Nettlefang would act reasonably, in her mind, to any cat found to have a relationship—romantic or otherwise—with a cat outside Prairieclan. That being forbade from ever seeing said cat again. She does not believe you can have friends, much less mates outside the clan and still keep the clan's best interests at heart. She would want to confine the cat to camp or keep a trusted warrior watching them at all time, until they show they can be trusted again. Nettlefang does not care whether this other cat is clan or kingdom or loner or kittypet, they are not Prairieclan and that is all that matters.
If the cat puts their relationship above their clan by refusing the terms of punishment or reoffends, she would advocate for exile. A cat who would choose someone other than the cats they were born and raised with is a liability, and untrustworthy. If they wish to leave, Nettlefang will not stop them. Any cats wanting to join Prairieclan will be met with suspicion from her, and she'd want a close eye on them until they proved their loyalty. She would not blame any kits for their blood, but does believe that they should be loyal to the clan they were born and raised in—be it Prairieclan or other.
— OUTSIDERS
Nettlefang is suspicious and unwelcoming towards outsiders, whether they're from one of the other clans or outside of them entirely. She is not outright hostile, but will not give them the benefit of the doubt especially if caught trespassing. If the other cat wants to pick a fight, she will find it hard to keep her temper in check, and can be easily goaded into a scuffle.
— OTHER GROUPS
Nettlefang knows that keeping Prairieclan safe requires some interaction with the other clans. She would prefer her neighbors be on good terms than bad, of course. She does not want her clan to rely on others, but is happy to have the other clans owe hers. She is likely to support giving help to other clans, but be very reluctant to accept it. She would rather have peace and allies than war, but knows that many things are worth fighting for and that is the way of the warrior. She is staunch in her belief that Prairieclan is the best clan, and will always view the other groups in the valley as possible threats to their wellbeing.
maplefrost
— MEDICINE CAT CODE
Maplefrost is pretty strict to following the medicine cat code. Having been brought up as a warrior until he took over the mantle as Shrikeberry's successor after her death, the warrior code is all that he knows. His time as a warrior shaped him to uphold the honor and morals that it brings, even if cats give him the nickname of being a rule-follower. In the same aspect, he does the same with the medicine cat code, despite his willingness to fall in love with Shrikeberry in their youth. He tends to react poorly toward those that break the code. Having a paw in both worlds results in him having a superior air to him about following the rules. Maplefrost thinks low of those that break the warrior and/or medicine cat code, and they might as well live out their life as a rogue.
— STARCLAN & THE DARK FOREST
Maplefrost, with all the death that surrounds him, has a faith that tends to dip to either side depending on the day. Before Littlestar was discovered missing or dead, he had a conflict-of-interest with his mom, since he believed wholeheartedly in StarClan. His faith was driven by being a warrior in his youth, nothing that he felt completely devoted to, however. But once Shrikeberry showed him the way of medicine, and met him in StarClan when he was inducted as the new PrairieClan medicine cat after her death, it was then that he devoted himself to worship StarClan in the way he should have to begin with. However, now with his mother's strange absence, he dares to ask StarClan why they think they can take everyone that he loves from him. Thorngaze, Redthorn, Shrikeberry, and, now, Littlestar. However, he is still willing to communicate with his ancestors... for now.
— TRADING RESOURCES
Maplefrost, being the patriotic brute that he is, takes his selfish nature to another level. Help from the PrairieClan medicine cat comes with a cost usually, at minimum a trade that has the same value between each offerings. Due to his beliefs, he would be mostly likely to trade with MistClan or the barn cats, as they have the strongest ties at the moment. Maplefrost is reluctant to trade herbs with RidgeClan, due to the war and his mother disappearing at the border, and it would take a lot of convincing the bitter male to even consider a trade. Least likely to be traded with is the Kingdom, both for distance between the two groups and also Maplefrost's opinion of the Kingdom being founded by traitors to all the clans.
— HEALING OUTSIDERS
Maplefrost cares about his clan first, bottom line. It would really vary on situation, and on how good of a mood that the tom is that day. However, he knows that Shrikeberry is ultimately looking over him and that he would want to do anything that would make her proud, even if he hates it. For anything other than a minor cut or a sniffling nose, he would go to Cinderstar to come up with the best plan in order to help the cat but not put the clan at risk.
vulturepaw
— MEDICINE CAT CODE
Does your character believe in strictly following the code? Are they happy to break as many rules as possible? What's their opinion on those who do break the code?
— STARCLAN & THE DARK FOREST
What does your character think of their ancestors? Do they believe in StarClan and The Dark Forest? Which do they support?
— TRADING RESOURCES
Is your character willing to offer their help to other groups? What kind of help are they willing to give? Will they trade herbs? Will they willingly share experiences? Which groups are they more likely to help?
— HEALING OUTSIDERS
Would your character heal minor injuries on an outsider or a cat from another group? What about major injuries? Illnesses that may require days of treatment? Would they inform their leader about it or keep it to themself?
lionflower
— STUDENTS
Because of his experience with not being able to pursue his dream as a medicine cat, Lionflower is eager to take on any student who wants to learn. He refuses to put a limit on passion. While he'd never refuse a student outright, what he looks for in his most promising students is a flexible mind, eagerness to help others, and—of course—passion for the subject.
— STARCLAN & THE DARK FOREST
Lionflower's view on StarClan is... complicated. Like any RidgeClan cat, he was raised devoutly, but when he wasn't chosen for the path of a medicine cat like he was so passionate about... well. Ultimately, he believes more in the will of cats who are still alive, in their choices and passion, and tries not to give much thought to why StarClan, in his mind, rejected him. Still, he opposes the Dark Forest; what cat wouldn't? It was where the darkest parts of clan history still prowled.
— SHARING HERBALISM KNOWLEDGE
Having been a RidgeClan cat, then a loner, before joining PrairieClan, Lionflower is sympathetic to outsiders. While he may keep some of the clan's most sensitive knowledge (such as poisons and their locations) close to his chest, he will freely divulge advice related to healing. Healing, he believes, should never be limited to one cat or group; it is the right of all cats to have a healthy body and mind. As such, he freely offers consultations and will give what herbs they can reasonably spare if the occasion calls for it. At heart, Lionflower is a healer, and he will never deny a cat their best shot at life.

mistclan policies hailstar
— THE WARRIOR CODE
On the outside, Hailstar is a strict follower of the code and strongly discourages anyone breaking it. However he’s very willing to play fast and lose with the rules if push comes to shove. Arguably he’s actively engaging in behavior that’s against it (pretending to be father of Riversong’s litter). If it comes down to keeping the code vs keeping peace or keeping the clan safe, the code will lose every time. For codebreakers, it depends on the rule they break. He’s more forgiving of cats who admit to their wrongdoings and promise to improve, and more forgiving of those who broke rules like having mates outside the clan. However cats who break rules like not feeding the others first, or killing unnecessarily, those cats are not so easily forgiven in his eyes.
— STARCLAN & THE DARK FOREST
Hailstar believes in Starclan and the dark forest, and supports Starclan. Although his opinion on them is lowered since Ridgeclan used Starclan’s will as a justification for attacking Mistclan. He feels a little betrayed that Starclan didn’t warn him or stop Ridgeclan, but ultimately he still listens to them and respects them.
— FORBIDDEN RELATIONSHIPS
Hailstar does not like it when Mistclan cats get into forbidden relationships, but he’s very forgiving of it. If the cat involved will either a)break it off or b) keep it quiet and not cause trouble he’ll keep it secret from the rest of the clan. In this area especially he believes in redemption for those involved, as he once had a forbidden relationship himself. If the cat is an outsider he’d encourage the Mistclanner to get their mate into Mistclan or break it off. And if kits occur, he’s very willing to lie and cover up tracks to keep the secret if the cat giving birth is in Mistclan. If the cat giving birth isn’t in his clan, he’d encourage the cat in Mistclan to stay put, keep it secret, or get their mate and kits into Mistclan.
— OUTSIDERS
Hailstar is neutral to outsiders. If they don’t mess with Mistclan, there is no reason to get involved. If they’re friendly, he’d consider swapping information or even supplies. If hostile, he’d aim for peace first, but if that wasn’t reciprocated he’d be swift to get them far away from Mistclan
— OTHER GROUPS
Hailstar universally wants to be on peaceful terms with other groups. As for specifics, he wants to maintain/revive an alliance with Priareclan or at least maintain friendly relations with them. If they asked for support he would happily provide. He wants Ridgeclan to back off and keep out of their land, and as long as there isn’t another fight or war he’s fine. If possible he wants to keep a good distance between his clan and Ridgeclan. He wouldn’t want to provide support to them. With the Kingdom he’s cautious, and wouldn’t offer support or an alliance until the group has shown it can stand on its own for a while. With the barn cats, he’s truly neutral. He doesn’t want to form an alliance or support them.
— ACCEPTING NEW MEMBERS
Hailstar is willing to add new cats to Mistclan regardless of their origin, as long as they promise to serve Mistclan. New cats are kept under a watchful eye for the first few moons, though there is no official trial period. Cats who prove themselves to be useful and loyal are allowed to stay, but cats who either aren’t very useful or aren’t loyal would run the risk of being kicked out.
briarpelt
— THE WARRIOR CODE
Briarpelt has a lot of faith in the warrior code; it's the basis of clan life and sets a precedent for honorable actions. He himself is a strict follower of the code, and for him to break it, the situation would have to be dire. As for those who do break the code, he will be strict in his opinion of the offender; codebreakers need to understand that the code is there for a reason, to protect them all and keep them apart from lawless rogues—but he's not entirely unyielding. In some cases, he understands the need to bend the rules for the greater good. For cases such as these, he will turn a blind eye, but would not openly support the rule-breaking.
— STARCLAN & THE DARK FOREST
He is a traditional follower of StarClan; having been brought up before the rise of Wolfstar, he retains his utmost faith in the clans' ancestors and does not believe Wolfstar—and RidgeClan—were truly "chosen." StarClan's will is seldom so direct, in his opinion. As expected, he condemns the Dark Forest; it is a place for cats who disgraced themselves, their clanmates, and their ancestors in life, and in death they pay the price. To curse a cat to the Place of No Stars is the darkest condemnation he can imagine. He will not acknowledge them as ancestors worth exalting, but is sure not to forget their stories for the warnings they've become.
— FORBIDDEN RELATIONSHIPS
Romance is... strange, to Briarpelt. It seems to go wrong so often, cause so much grief and heartache, and cats still leap at the chance of it—despite the immediate and predictable consequences. He's not very forgiving of cross-clan romances; they knew the risks when they committed to the relationship, so they should own up to the consequences. A clanmate caught in the act of a forbidden romance should be promptly banned from attending Gatherings, withheld from patrols along the other party's border, and possibly—if he believes the clanmate's loyalty is questionable—demoted. If the romance was with an outsider, he would be slightly more forgiving; the cat should still be at least reprimanded, but he won't deny the outsider the opportunity to prove their loyalty to MistClan if they wish to remain in a relationship with a MistClan cat. But if there are kits... well. Kits always complicate matters. In Briarpelt's opinion, any cat who falls pregnant from a forbidden relationship would be a fool not to keep their mouth shut about the sire; he doesn't believe the kits should be punished for their parents' mistakes, but he's not blind to the hardships they'll have to endure throughout their lives if their parentage comes to light. In the case of contested rights to the kits, he will push for the right of the birth parent to keep them if they wish (except in extreme cases, like if that parent is abusive or neglectful), whichever Clan they are from.
— OUTSIDERS
Briarpelt is not particularly trusting of outsiders; without StarClan or the warrior code to guide them, he cannot be assured of honorable engagement. Outsiders should be treated cautiously, but not with aggression, and advised to take their travels away from clan territory. He doesn't think it wise to give information or supplies to these strange wanderers, but will make exceptions in the case of kits or elders under duress.
— OTHER GROUPS
MistClan and RidgeClan have been at odds for generations; their difference in their approach to faith, with the Moonpool settled right between them, has never made for an easy relationship with their neighbors across the river. With the wisdom of age, Briarpelt is sure that the current hostility between them in the wake of Wolfstar's Crusade will fade in time, and following generations will hear of the white-flecked leader's ambition as a warning, but for now... For now, they live in its aftermath. RidgeClan should be treated with caution. Still, he will not deny any cat's chance to prove their loyalty, and will remain civil and respectful of the clan's new leadership. He will not, however, seek out or support an alliance with them, and will not trade supplies (excepting, of course, in the case of medicine cats; their duties fall outside the realm of politics). As for PrairieClan, Briarpelt will never forget that it was them who came to their aid in Wolfstar's Crusade. He doesn't pay heed to the weak accusations thrown their way after Irisfrost's kits went missing; PrairieClan has no need of kit-stealing, and have never shown themselves to be lacking in honor, despite their more... lackadaisical, nature. As for an alliance, he trusts in PrairieClan's unity and could think of no better cats to have as an ally. If support is requested (or the need of it is obvious), he will approve of sending what aid MistClan can provide. War, in general, is to be avoided at all costs. There are no winners in war. His view towards the barn cats is largely neutral; they have never been a threat and aren't a threat now. He likewise sees no value in allying with them, and would overall prefer to leave them to PrairieClan's purview.
lotusfire
— MEDICINE CAT CODE
Lotusfire absolutely loves to break the code. They believe medicine cats have more power than leaders, but that the code was created to suppress that power. A medicine cat should be able to have children to continue their legacy and a medicine cat should be able to choose whether or not they help a cat in need. Lotusfire has little respect for those who let their power be restrained.
— STARCLAN & THE DARK FOREST
StarClan has never appeared to Lotusfire. When they were younger, they wanted nothing more than to have the approval of their ancestors, but now, they believe StarClan made a terrible mistake in deciding not to accept them as MistClan’s medicine cat. Lotusfire has more respect for the cats of The Dark Forest than the members of StarClan. While they’ve never spoken with the cats of The Dark Forest, they do admire them for all the hurt they caused the clans. At this point, however, Lotusfire has realized their connection with their ancestors, dark and light, has just never existed.
— TRADING RESOURCES
While Lotusfire would prefer to hoard resources, they do offer their help to any and all other groups for appearances. They do limit what aid they provide, though. For example, if they were low on milkwort, they wouldn’t share any with another group, but if they had plenty of milkwort, they’d spare some. Lotusfire also shares advice, like suggesting which herbs to use for a certain illness, though they may not be completely honest about the effect those herbs might have on a sick cat.
— HEALING OUTSIDERS
Whether or not Lotusfire would treat an outsider depends on many factors. If other clan cats were present, the chances of them treating a wounded outsider are higher. They must give off the impression that they are an honorable medicine cat, albeit an ill-tempered one. If it was just Lotusfire and the outsider, they’d likely simply walk away from the outsider without treating them. The story they’d tell their leader, if they share one at all, would be determined by the situation.
spottedpaw
— MEDICINE CAT CODE
Spottedpaw believes deeply in the spirit of the medicine cat code. She tries to follow every rule she can to the best of her ability. As for those who do break the code, her opinion varies by what the offense was and if it was purposeful or not.
— STARCLAN & THE DARK FOREST
Spottedpaw greatly reveres and supports Starclan. She believes that great wisdom can come from learning from the lessons of cats past. While she believes in the existence of the dark forest as counter to Starclan, she often refuses to speak about the cats who reside there in fear of giving their spirits power in acknowledgement.
— TRADING RESOURCES
Spottedpaw will happily help other groups in need, whether they be clans, other organized groups or knowledgeable loners if she is able to without putting her own clanmates at risk of harm. Whether that help be in the form of trading surplus herbs or healing techniques. If they come with peaceful intentions, Spottedpaw will not turn away a cat from any group, but in sheer proximity would be more likely to trade with Riverwalkers and Prairieclanners.
— HEALING OUTSIDERS
As per medicine cat code, Spottedpaw would never withhold medical treatment from another cat if she was able to help them, regardless of group affiliation or lack there of. Were it a small injury she would treat them and send them on their way. Major injuries or illnesses she would inform her leader and ask if she might be able to have them stay in the medicine den in camp, and if refused for one reason or another, she'd make her own auxiliary den outside of camp to house them in until they recovered.

the kingdom policies laurelfern
— STARCLAN & THE DARK FOREST
While Laurelfern believes both StarClan and The Dark Forest exist, she’s turned her back on them. She believes worshiping a higher power only leads to devastation and that The Kingdom benefits from rejecting religion. Laurelfern blamed StarClan for the war, for letting Wolfstar become leader, for guiding RidgeClan down a path of suffering. It was easy to discard StarClan and even easier to cast aside The Dark Forest. She expects her followers to ditch religion, too, or at least keep it to themselves, and she’s extremely wary of those who worship StarClan or The Dark Forest.
— CROSS-GROUP RELATIONSHIPS
Laurelfern doesn’t oppose cross-group relationships like the clans do. She understands cats cannot choose who they fall in love with and she doesn’t believe scent markers can keep a pair apart if they really want to be with one another, so why even try? She’d likely invite the other half of the relationship to join The Kingdom so the couple wouldn’t have to sneak around anymore or be understanding if the Kingdom half of the pair chose to leave to be with their significant other. If kits resulted from the relationship, she’d let the parents work out where the kits would reside and would only get involved if she was asked to. If the kits did end up in The Kingdom, Laurelfern would happily claim them as Kingdom kits and she’d expect everyone else to treat them as such. If they ended up elsewhere, she’d respect that.
— OUTSIDERS
Much of The Kingdom is made up of former rogues, loners, and kittypets. Laurelfern’s first instinct would never be to chase off an outsider who wandered over the border, no, she’d welcome them instead. She believes in giving everyone a chance, but if an outsider proves to be hostile, they may be treated differently than friendly outsiders. Laurelfern would gladly help a wounded or sick outsider, whether that means offering them a place to stay for a short while or sending them off with a bundle of herbs - whichever way is more comfortable for the outsider.
— OTHER GROUPS
Of the three traits the cats of The Kingdom are encouraged to value, two of them are benevolence and equanimity. Laurelfern would prefer not to form alliances, because it’s too much like picking sides. However, she would like to have friendly, or at least neutral, relationships with all groups in the valley. The idea of having The Kingdom keep their distance from other groups has crossed her mind before, but many Kingdom cats have connections elsewhere and she couldn’t bring herself to totally separate families and friends. Laurelfern would offer aid to another group, like herbs or prey, so long as The Kingdom could spare it, but she’d think twice before sending reinforcements into battle. The Kingdom is meant to represent peace, so getting involved in a conflict wouldn’t be something she’d take lightly.
— ACCEPTING NEW MEMBERS
Laurelfern welcomes just about everyone into The Kingdom, even if the joining cat is from another group. However, she is careful about who she invites in. While she believes in giving everyone a chance, she also wants to stay true to The Kingdom’s values, so aggressive and cruel cats are much less likely to be invited to join The Kingdom than kind ones. A simple conversation with the joining cat is all Laurelfern requires before they can officially become a member of The Kingdom. There is no trial period, unless the chat with Laurelfern counts, and there is no pressure to prove oneself.
cherry
— STARCLAN & THE DARK FOREST
Cherry promotes the Nightwalkers as a group without religion, anyone is free to be whomever they are without any sort of governing rules from some kind of being above. Being practical is how she wants to operate the group. This has led to a climate that ridicules those of faith. While Cherry outwardly shows no religious ties, a piece of her that no one would ever see has her still believing in StarClan for the sole purpose to see her late mate, Rockbelly, again one day. However, she never shares this with anyone, and never will.
— CROSS-GROUP RELATIONSHIPS
If the relationship is between different Kingdom sanctions, then she would welcome the relationship. She may be a little cautious to make sure that the cat is fulfilling their duties needed for the Nightwalkers, but otherwise, she doesn't mind. The reaction would be almost the same for an outsider, as long as the outsider was not a threat to the Kingdom and the Kingdom cat would at least try to convince the outsider to join the Kingdom. However, if it is with a clan, it depends on which. If it is MistClan or PrairieClan, she would be more forgiving than in RidgeClan. For MistClan or PrairieClan, Cherry understands that love can happen across borders. But like the clans, there is no way that a cat can comfortably live a paw in both societies. She would confide in the council, and make a decision from there, which would mostly likely making the cat choose between the clans or the Kingdom. It would not be anything personal or anything against forbidden relationships itself, but purely due to the conflict of interest. If it is RidgeClan, Cherry would be slightly more irritated or more tense in her words, but it would be the same as with MistClan or PrairieClan.
— OUTSIDERS
Cherry is rather neutral toward outsiders, unless they give her a reason to not be. However, her tone and movements may be aggressive as with her personality and demeanor. However, they must be prepared to be scrutinized over their intentions in the territory.
— OTHER GROUPS
Cherry, having lost her family and mate in the war against RidgeClan and MistClan, is not a fan of war. While she will stick up for her faction and society, and make sure that they are not perceived as weak, Cherry will do anything to avoid physical conflict against groups. Even if she has to get in a couple of fights herself to avoid it for the betterment of the group, she will.
The Kingdom Skywalkers and Riverwalkers: This group of cats are considered to be the closest thing to family that she has other than her blood relatives. Devoted and passionate, she is the bone of their bone, the blood of their blood. Cherry will always fight for her founded home and make sure they thrive under all conditions.
RidgeClan: Cherry hates her old home and what they have become. It would not be unusual for her to be involved in some rather aggressive and temperamental border exchanges with her old clanmates if she happens to patrols along the border.
PrairieClan: As this is the clan of her daughter, and despite its distance away from the border, Cherry would mostly like look for an alliance with his group if she had to choose at least one. The similarities to the cave paths in the Nightwalker territory and the tunnels in PrairieClan is what draws her more toward this clan. Well, that's what she says. But her heart is still with her daughter, Mothflight, and she will do whatever she can from a distance away.
MistClan: Cherry has a neutral opinion of MistClan, as she is still getting over her bias against them now that she is no longer in RidgeClan.
— ACCEPTING NEW MEMBERS
Cherry would never turn away a cat, as this is something that she was gracious of that PrairieClan did with her daughter, Mothflight. However, with her judgmental and bitter self, she won't let many come into her faction without investigating them. Most likely, after the initial rush of cats that join the Kingdom, there will be a period of time that Cherry will be keeping an eye on them. She would likely recruit some of the older members to keep watch over them. The new cats may even realize that Cherry herself watches them from a distance. However, over time, she eventually loosens her grip on the new members of the faction, and they can tell that she trusts them after their "trial period" is over.
honeythorn
— STARCLAN & THE DARK FOREST
Honeythorn is extremely internally conflicted in his views on Starclan, and to a lesser extent the dark forest. He thinks knowledge of those who came before them is beneficial, but doubts their ability to interfere with matters of the living. And thinks they should be respected but nothing more. He has no qualms with cats that do worship Starclan however, and is open to hearing new philosophies, but rarely shares his own religious beliefs. He does not support the dark forest, but neither does he obey Starclans whim and way without question either.
— CROSS-GROUP RELATIONSHIPS
Considering the more cosmopolitan nature of the kingdom, Honeythorn has very little qualms about cross group relationships, especially within the kingdom subgroups themselves. Should the other cat be an outsider, his reaction would depend if the relationship was kept secret from him or not and which group they were a part of. As a father himself, Honeythorn would do what was best for an resulting kits rather than treat them as political pawns and what is best would vary based on individual circumstances.
— OUTSIDERS
Honeythorn is cordial with outsiders, secretly wary, but only taking threatening action should they do so first.
— OTHER GROUPS
Honeythorn finds comfort in neutrality. The constant warring of the clans is what helped drive him away from clan life altogether. He isn't opposed to keeping peaceful relations with his neighbors, but concrete alliances make him wary of being dragged into clan politics once again. Even in leaving Ridgeclan, he does not loathe or harbor hate for his former clanmates or leader. Honeythorn believes war is a last resort, very much a believer in 'big stick diplomacy'.
— ACCEPTING NEW MEMBERS
Honeythorn is willing to give any cat at least one chance to prove they can be an asset and not a threat. And additional chances may be given depending on the cat in question. There is no "official" trial period, but he would keep an eye on them to see how they are adjusting.
koda
— OUTSIDERS
Koda's default attitude to outsiders is a friendly one, regardless of the cat's origin. However he's quick to retreat if a cat proves troublesome, preferring to avoid confrontation.
— OTHER GROUPS
As Koda has no real history with the other groups, he is friendly open to all of them, including Ridgeclan. While he's heard of the other groups second-hand, he'd prefer to slowly build his own opinion with time rather than let others color his perspective. He's open to helping build an alliance between the Kingdom and any group who expresses interest.
— CROSS-GROUP RELATIONSHIPS
The whole idea of borders preventing love is deeply confusing and a little concerning to Koda. He doesn't see how an arbitrary line should define someone's love life. As such, he sees no problems with cross clan groups and would willing run messages between groups if asked. This includes relationships with outsiders. He'd want any kits to be able to know both parents, and would encourage either parent to do what it takes see their children, even if that includes moving.
