mistclan • apprentice • eight moons • she-cat • bisexual
a long-furred sandy she-cat with pale green eyes. [break] Daisy is a troubled cat who was shaped by the lack of care she had growing up. At first, she had parents who were too young and troubled to care about their children's development. The stress of being young parents of two kits only amplified their need to get out of camp. It was only a matter of time before Hawthorn and Daisy witnessed their parents being openly chastised by the other queens and warriors in the clan. They weren't nice to the young parents, and in turn, the hushed family conversations painted the rest of the clan negatively. [break][break] Their parents were absent, more eager to prove themselves as warriors than they were to prove that they were fit parents. Her mother, Rosepelt, never really stuck around the queens den, leaving the two kits mewling, cold, and hungry. However, she was there enough to not just be outed for complete neglect. With that being said, Daisy spent most of her kithood being bounced around from queen to queen. [break][break] She stayed with her brother, not leaving his side. He was only a few minutes older, angrier, and believed the clan had failed him and his parents. He believed that if the clan was just nicer to his parents, he would have been taken care of. He became cold and distant with Daisy, only looking happy when she would join in on his ‘adventures.’ Traveling past the camp borders, trying to climb trees, failed attempts to hide tiny morsels of prey to 'punish' the clanmates that failed them. These behaviors got them both in trouble: extra tasks around the den and the camp, lectures, whatever the clan thought would be necessary to put a stop to the nuisance behavior. It never worked, and as Daisy got into her later moons, she did not make it easy for anyone. She wanted the world to know how much she hurt. [break][break] She was tired of being told the same thing on repeat: ‘We do this to make sure you are safe and fed,’ for it only to turn into ‘If you keep doing this, we will postpone your apprenticeship’ in a short amount of time. All their words, everyone’s words were full of bullshit. No one meant it. No one really cared. She even knew Hawthorn would throw her under the bus in a second if he were to get caught. It was up to Daisy to survive in this cruel world, and she had to do it alone. No one was looking out for her. [break][break] It wasn’t until she was about to have her apprentice ceremony that a "miracle" happened: her parents finally decided that they would be parents! They were expecting, again. At first, she was naively hopeful underneath it all. She was tired of going to random queens for food and warmth. Maybe this time the words, ‘we will make sure you’re safe,’ and ‘we’re sorry,’ would actually have meaning, and that they would actually take care of her, but she was a fool. [break][break] The focus was mainly on Hawthorn. He was the one that was more defiant and abrasive out of the two, so Daisy slipped through the cracks. She was still yelled at and still punished, but her misdeeds were usually missed. Then, there was the news that Stonefrost and Rosepelt were pregnant. Daisy was going to have siblings. Terrible news. It felt like a betrayal. Why did they get to have a do-over family? Why do these kits get the parents she never had? She stewed in silence, watching her brother get irate, following him and his friends into the night. Testing the boundaries, being angsty apprentices. She had her family back, and she hated it. This wasn’t the happy ending she dreamed of when she was a younger kitten. This was worse, and she knew she was stuck. So now what? Now, she had to find out how to be happy, an arduous task that she would continue for the rest of her life. [break][break] She became an apprentice with some hope that she’d make friends. Pretty she-cats are popular, right? Maybe she wasn’t the most popular, but she was known. She was pretty, charismatic, carefree, and was part of a "miracle" family. She had a biting attitude, a she-cat who didn’t put up with most shit and was down for a good time. She liked to get her way and tried to get her way. Manipulation was her first language, and blackmail was a close second. She viewed interactions as transactions; they got a good time or something from her, and she got get-out-of-jail-free cards. [break][break] However, no one was allowed to get close. Friendships weren’t part of Daisy’s life. She didn’t know how to make or keep them because of how she viewed interactions. She didn’t share what was going on. She didn’t want people to know her life. She didn’t want people to realize that underneath her abrasive exterior, she was that little kit who was stuck on a loop, scared and afraid as she waited for her mother to come back to feed her. They didn’t deserve to know that because no one really cared at the end of the day, not even her brother. Their relationship was transactional; she joined along with him and didn’t snitch, and he wasn’t mean and would take her places that she had never been outside of the camp. [break][break] Despite the notion above, she craved attention. The subconscious part of her screamed for the validation she never received. Her every action is a scream for help, but she meets help with bristles and gruff because she doesn’t know what is genuine or not. She doesn’t know if they would just turn around and leave her to her own defenses. She’s not easy to get close to, and she’s harder to love..and she can’t tell if she likes that she protects herself or if she hates it. [break][break] She’s a dramatic cat, first and foremost. With strangers and warriors, it is very common to see her with her eyebrows raised and a sneer, as if the words spoken brought a disgusting taste to her mouth. She also incessantly grooms herself, focusing on that task more than looking at the person in front of her if she thinks they’re boring. Eyerolls, throwing her head back dramatically along with heavy sighs. Think Disgust from Inside Out [break][break] With her peers or people she enjoys, she can be found with a grin and a mischievous gleam in her eyes. She’s found laughing and giggling, making snide comments. She tries to be happy. She tries to look as if things don’t bug her. She isn’t always angry. She’s not just this ball of angst despite it being a massive part of her. [break][break] However, when she’s alone, the smile fades. She recedes into herself, watching her family fight and bicker. She wants to fall into the cracks so she’s not the center of attention. She hums quite often to herself, walking along at a slower pace almost lost in thought before putting on that facade. She’s not a big talker if someone were to catch her out by surprise. [break][break] When it comes to fighting, she’s not shy about picking a fight and causing a scene. However, when she doesn’t cause the fight, she shuts down. She becomes cold and calloused, saying “okay” or agreeing with them just to make it stop while she stews on their words, plotting and planning to make them hurt the way they hurt her. [break][break] She’s not going to beg someone to stay. She’s not going to cry to get her way (most of the time), and she’ll see them leave and then cut them off. It’s safer that way; it’s meant to be. She’s unforgiving regarding actions that signify to her that they don’t want to be around her and that they seem uninterested in her. She doesn’t want to be hurt again, and letting them leave, even if she wants them to stay, will be her usual reaction. She doesn’t like taking what people give her because she doesn’t want something held over her head. She’s scared to get close to people because she fears being hurt. [break][break] Closeness is a threat; she’ll avoid it at almost all costs. At the same time, she’s afraid to be alone. So she’ll cling distantly, she might ask them to leave as soon as they make her mad or she feels like they’re getting too close, but she’ll panic as soon as they walk out the door. Think how a child runs away from home when they’re upset but only makes it up the street, gets nervous and scared, and says that they were “hungry,” and that’s why they came back. [break][break] She’s not a crier despite her dramatics. She’s an overly anxious, insecure cat who doesn’t know how to handle much. She doesn’t like asking for help, not because she thinks it will burden them (she really doesn’t care about that) but because she knows she’ll be let down or hurt. [break][break] Her own actions confuse her; she isn’t aware as to why she does things. She just reacts. She’s not emotionally intelligent enough to understand and comprehend. She’s not a big guilt tripper, either. She’s quick to cut people off when she doesn’t see the benefit or senses a threat. She makes quick, heat-of-the-moment decisions that aren’t thought out until she’s hurt or wants something. Looking For friends: Daisy isn't the easiest to get along with at first, especially if they're considerably older than her. She's not one to get close to people, but she will be nice and have more superficial relationships. These relationships are not restricted to any clan! She frequents the borders in her free time, so anything is possible.[break][break] enemies: As previously stated, Daisy isn't the easiest to get along with, especially if they're older than her. She's stepped on many toes in her young life and isn't afraid to make enemies. These relationships are not restricted to any clan! She frequents the borders in her free time, so anything is possible.[break][break] romance/crushes: Daisy is young and dumb with loose morals. While she's not actively looking for crushes, they're bound to happen in her adolescents. I'm up for anything, something cute and elementary school crush like, or something that is sad. Doesn't have to have a happy, feel good ending. These crushes are not restricted to any clan! She frequents the borders in her free time, so anything is possible.[break][break]
