appearance
a tall, long-legged tom with a pale coat, brown stripes, and piercing green eyes.
He is not similar to really anyone in his direct family, which can cause cats to question their relation. Wheatpaw is tall and lean, perfect for squeezing into tunnels and running across the rolling hills of the plains. He stands proud, with his head held high at all times. He does so, so that he can look down upon cats when he bullies them.
His fur is a sleek pale color, matching the blades of wheat-colored grass that settle in the territory. Like his father, he has brown stripes that helps him blend into the shadows of the grasses. He has a long, slender tail and bright green eyes. He has a scar on his head, which originates high on his left temple and stretches down to mid-way on his forehead, given by Coyotepaw during a spar.

description
[tw: death of a kit via deathberries]
prologue [-9 moons to 0 moons]
Before Wheatpaw was even a thought, a clan meeting was called to discuss what to do about a tunneler named Creeksong.
Creeksong had admitted to Littlestar and Cindersong that the kits that were just born to her were fathered by a MistClan tom. Three kits were born there named Salmonkit, Ashkit, and Buck-kit. With much dialogue coming from the rest of the clan, and Creeksong promised that the MistClan tom wasn't interested in claiming the kits, Littlestar allowed her to stay in the clan despite protests.
However, after her kits were apprenticed, the glances at Creeksong by the other cats in the clan showed her that her would have prove her loyalty to her homeland. That's when she met Sheepfeather. Everyone in the clan knew him as a kind tom, who was known for always wanting a family of his own. She sweetened him up and knew that having kits that were purebred PrairieClan would further improve her loyalty and reputation to her clanmates.
That's all she cared about.
kithood [0 moons to 6 moons]
Creeksong, after a hard and tiresome delivery, gave birth to two small kits. After birth, she was quick to leave, claiming to want some fresh air. Sheepfeather stayed behind to admire his kits.
"So, what names do you have in mind?" spoke Shrikeberry, as examined the kits nestled beside the tom.
"I was going to name one of the kits Honeykit. Which, the she-kit is so golden-brown that it matches!" The father purred, before looking to the little tom. "Creeksong mentioned she wanted the name one of the kits Lambkit, but she hasn't talked to me about it for a while..."
"If I were you, given the fact he isn't here, give the kit a name you like."
Sheepfeather looked toward the medicine cat, who knew all his woes about his "mate" and her non-commitment to him and the kits. Looking toward the small tom nestled into his belly, he gently licked the top of the kit's head.
"Wheatkit."
Only after a moon, Honeykit was diagnosed by the medicine cat for having a weak heart. It was hard for her to move, to nurse, and to breathe. Right before the first moon of life, Honeykit became immobile and catatonic, gasping for breathes. Sheepfeather, in absence of his mate, made the decision to allow Honeykit to move to StarClan in order to end her suffering. As the medicine cat gave the kit a deathberry, Sheepfeather silently wept into his kit, who he shielded his eyes from seeing what was happening.
Both parents mourned the death of Honeykit, for two different reasons.
Sheepfeather mourned the loss of his kit. Obviously, he didn't feel anything from her "mate", so her passion and love was for his kits.
Sheepfeather mourned the loss of her kit. For her, it was a loss comparative to loosing an asset, a tool to be able to prove her loyalty to her clan.
Once Wheatkit was weaned, Creeksong was never seen in the nursery again. She didn't see Wheatkit as a valuable offspring to invest her time into. It left Sheepfeather trying his best to raise Wheatkit, but with being a reputable warrior in the clan, his duties often caused him to not be as present as needed in the kit's life. He was only able to be around in the evenings and nights, when it was time to rest with his kit.
At three moons old, Wheatpaw's half-siblings became warriors and tunnelers, with the names Salmonmask, Ashcloud, and Buckstrike. It became increasingly obvious that Creeksong favored them over her younger child.
With all the anger brewing inside him, Wheatkit began to lash out at the other kits. This was either him being too rough or causing drama in the nursery. The queens were agitated, and brought this up to Creeksong. She merely shrugged her shoulders. The queens felt sorry for Sheepfeather having so much on his plate and taking care of Wheatkit, so they disciplined when they could. However, it didn't stop Wheatkit.
apprenticeship [6 moons to present]
It was a hope that maybe apprentice training would allow for Wheatkit to become more disciplined. Wheatkit became Wheatpaw, and was given the mentor of a tunneler named Hillfoot.
While it was clear that Wheatpaw was talented, he took his frustrations out on his tasks and also would have anger problems around his peers. He quickly became a bully to the other apprentices. Hillfoot tried to stop it as much as possible, but he lacked the experience.
Wheatpaw would often try to speak with his mother, but to no avail for her attention.
It became increasingly obvious that Sheepfeather would retire to the elder's den sooner than normal, just due to quickly aging joints.
Wheatpaw, one day, challenged an kit, Coyotekit, to a spar, due to a bickering between them. "This little pipsqueak won't be able to beat me!" the cocky tom called out, as they got into ready positions. It was a pretty fair fight, given the fact that Coyotekit was only five moons. However, the younger tom, when Wheatpaw unsheathed his claws, managed to slice the lean cat across the forehead, from his left temple to the middle of his head. That was when the adults finally reached them and split them up.
After recovering in the medicine cat den, he swore revenge on Coyotepaw, who had recently become an apprentice, and his friends.
Rumors of the clanless in the territory peaks Wheatpaw's interest. Maybe if I stop them, then Mother will finally be able to see me, he thinks to himself.

Pre-Plotting: Wheatpaw is an adopt from Coyotepaw's wanted ad, "here's to my future".
In the PrairieClan plot adoptables, Wheatpaw aligns with the Amaryllis plot view. Being a cat that has become self-sufficient and self-reliant, he believes that the clan should also follow suit. In addition, he is against the openness of the borders to both refugees and outsiders, as he believes it was the reason for his broken family (as Creeksong was able to have kits with a MistClan cat due to relaxed borders).
Wheatpaw also identifies with the Pollen role, as he sees the opportunity to get rid of the Clanless as a chance to be seen by his clan and his mother. This may lead to Wheatpaw becoming severely injured or deceased in the future.
Wheatpaw's parents and half-siblings are up for adoption at "and then it falls, and then i fall".
