mistclan territory
MistClan Camp Sheltered by trees and plants that have been carefully woven and maintained for generations, MistClan's camp is well protected. Most dens are high in trees, nests cradled in woven branches and padded with moss. The leader's nest is high in the branches of the Skytree, and ancient oak towering in the center of camp, with Clan meetings called from one of its low branches and the medicine den cradled beneath its roots. The Lightning Tree Atop a hill overlooking the plains is a large tree that was struck by lightning many seasons ago. Apprentices are brought to the lightning tree to train, whether in the large, bare branches to practice climbing, or below it in the soft, springy grass. Sometimes, young couples will climb the tree at night to watch the stars together. The Stonemark Almost as sacred to MistClan as the Moonpool, the Stonemark serves as a monument to the Clans' history. Its smooth stone walls, carved out by an ancient river, are marked by stone and claw in the secret language of the historian, detailing historical events almost all the way back to the Clans' formation. The historian has a private den here, but most still opt to sleep in the safer confines of camp. Misty Forest Making up most of MistClan's territory is the dense forest, which gave the Clan its name: as the sun rises in the morning and starts to warm the earth, fog rises and becomes trapped in the tight branches of the forest, lingering for most of the day. Most of MistClan's hunting is done here, as they're able to move quickly through the interlocking branches. The River The river at the base of the waterfall serves as MistClan's primary water source, as it's much calmer here, teeming with fish and waterbirds. More playful cats can be found splashing in the shallows during the heat of greenleaf. Plains' Edge MistClan's territory doesn't end where the forest does, extending further out into the plains. This area has been contested territory with the neighboring PrairieClan in the past, and could well become so again. But for now, it serves as MistClan's favorite hunting ground for turkeys, and the medicine cat often ventures here for herbs that prefer more sun than the denser forest allows. Moon Cave The tunnel that leads to the Moonpool is cool, winding, and occasionally lit by shafts of light from gaps above. Breezes through the tunnels sound like voices, and many believe it's the voice of StarClan. Apprentices sometimes come here on a dare, but seldom make it all the way to the Moonpool before they become spooked and leave. Ancestor's Grove Between the Mooncave and the Stonemark lies a hollow, dense with trees, named Ancestor’s Grove. Moss is plentiful and blankets the soft ground, but bushes and flowers are few and far between. The dead are often buried among the roots of the trees here and graves are marked by woven decorations and painted artwork. Ancestor’s Grove is a carefully cultivated area, tended to by apprentices, but mostly by the medicine cat apprentice and the historian’s students.

predators & prey
With a territory spanning between rocky hills, dense forest, and open plains, MistClan sees predators and prey that can be found in both of the other territories. Their most common prey, however, are birds. Turkeys are a favorite prey, with flocks of them often congregating in MistClan's forest, and turkey-hunting is a cherished tradition. While mountain lions are less common in MistClan territory, having to range further down from the mountains, bobcat and lynx are a more common occurence. prey
