prairieclan territory
PrairieClan Camp PrairieClan has made their camp in a sheltered grove of trees surrounded by hills, protected by a barrier of various bramble that is continuously woven together with trees, branches, and other plants. Dens are dug much like fox burrows, created and maintained by the talents of tunnelers, with multiple entrances hidden by foliage. All of the dens are connected by smaller offshoot tunnels, making each one possible to reach without surfacing. Clan meetings are called from a fallen tree, with the leader's den dug beneath it, and the medicine den hollowed into the side of an incline nearby. Cabin Near the edge of PrairieClan's territory, not far from the river, is an abandoned two-leg nest. It's stood empty for so long that it's not perceived as any threat, and in fact, many beneficial herbs like catmint can be found growing there. Lately, a sect of cats from the farm has settled there, putting PrairieClan in an awkward position. Tunnels A vast network of tunnels crisscross invisibly beneath PrairieClan's territory, even reaching into others. The tunnels provide safe, quick access to any part of their territory, as well as shelter from predators and opportunities for ambush hunting. They can be dangerous, however, as they can flood in times of heavy rain or even collapse. Forest Copses of trees dot the meadows, providing shade and shelter for both cats and prey. These areas provide opportunity for hunting as well as collecting moss and foliage for nests. Apprentice training sessions are usually held in a fern hollow, sheltered from birds of prey by the surrounding trees. River The river runs more shallow in many parts of PrairieClan territory, widening over a rocky riverbed before it eventually culminates in the rapids further downstream. While shallow, the water is bitterly cold, fast, and the rocks are slippery; most cats opt to drink from nearby creeks instead. Many herbs can be found in the damp earth near the river, however, making it a popular haunt for the medicine cat and herbalist. Hills The range of hills in the eastern part of PrairieClan's territory is perfect for the wide-open hunting of hares, though it is necessary to keep an eye out for birds of prey. Many herbs that favor drier soil can be found here. Fields In the stretch of fields that eventually turns to farmland, hunting opportunities abound. Hunting parties favor this land for anything from field mice and rabbits to cowbirds and turkeys. Rosemary Hill Beside PrairieClan’s camp rests Rosemary Hill, the clan’s burial grounds. Flowers and herbs blanket the hill, leaving not a single inch uncovered, and rosemary is especially abundant here. The favorite flowers of the deceased are planted on their graves and tended to by apprentices, specifically the medicine cat apprentice and the herbalist’s students. Rosemary Hill is a very beautiful area and some cats visit just to stroll through the field and admire the sight.

predators & prey
With a territory primarily of rolling hills and plains, most of the predators that PrairieClan has to be concerned about is coyotes, badgers, and birds of prey. Of course, they are not exempt from other roaming predators, especially bears during salmon season. Most of their prey consists of rabbits, field mice, and birds, though plenty of arboreal species can be found in the scattered clusters of trees. prey
