i'm afraid will always be
trapped within an abstract from a moment of my life
Ophelia, though used to the worry-free life of a kittypet, chose to escape her home in search of her lover and in order to raise her unborn children. Unable to find him after fruitless searching, she settles in a barn and births three kits. One of them, Vulture, is stolen at two moons old by a stranger who Ophelia had allowed to stay at the barn. This betrayal makes her extremely protective of her remaining two kits, and very suspicious towards strangers. A kindly pregnant cat seeking a place to rest manages to gain her trust and tell her about the clans they are traveling to. After much deliberation and convincing, Ophelia and her children decide to join their new friend on their search. Eventually they make it to the mountains where the Kingdom resides, and decide to join the new group instead of a clan after hearing from the ex-clan cats that the clans aren't as perfect as the stories say. The Nightwalker camp seems safest to Ophelia, so she and her kits join their ranks with newleaf on the horizon.
Ophelia's son Vulture was eventually taken in by Prairieclan, becoming Vulturepaw. His family has no knowledge of him being alive and there are currently no plans for them to reunite. Please do not adopt a sibling with the expectation that they will meet Vulturepaw, as that is undecided!
Her children's names are flexible, but she likely would have stuck to a bird theme or various other nature-y things. It is unlikely she would pick "kittypet" names for her children. Bonus points if a kit is named after a favorite flower, smell, tree, etc. of Samson's—feel free to make it up!

 | Magpie | 7 moons, open Ophelia's child. Placeholder pronouns are he/they, but can be any gender! Appearance and name are flexible, but if the name Magpie is kept, a black-and-white cat is preferred. Must be a Nightwalker in the Kingdom with his mother. Magpie's personality is very flexible, but they are intended to be more outgoing than their sibling. He would have encouraged his mother to join the clans with Lavender, wanting the adventure and to meet new cats. How he is affected by his mother's protectiveness and his brother being taken is up to you! Magpie's father is tentatively a longhair brown tabby with low white, so some appearance possibilities are solid black or grey, grey/brown tabby, grey/brown bengal, or charcoal bengal.  | Wren | 7 moons, open Ophelia's child. Placeholder pronouns are she/her, but can be any gender! Appearance and name are flexible, but if the name Wren is kept, a brown tabby or bengal is preferred. Must be a Nightwalker in the Kingdom with her mother. Wren's personality is very flexible, but she is intended to be shier than her sibling. She was either against or neutral to the idea of leaving the barn, but wanted to stay with her family. How she is affected by her mother's protectiveness and her brother being taken is up to you! Wren's father is tentatively a longhair brown tabby with low white, so some appearance possibilities are solid black or grey, grey/brown tabby, grey/brown bengal, or charcoal bengal.  | Lavender | 24+ moons, open Ophelia's friend, considered somewhat of an aunt to Magpie and Wren. Current pronouns are she/her, but can be any gender as long as they are AFAB/able to bear kits as they are currently pregnant! Appearance and name can be whatever you like, Lavender is just a placeholder. Preferred to be a Nightwalker in the Kingdom like Ophelia, but could be a River- or Skywalker. Her personality and history are flexible: she can be an ex kittypet, come from a land far far away, whatever you like. She is intended to be a rather sweet, easygoing cat, as her gentleness is the reason Ophelia decides to trust her. How many kits she has and adopting them out is all up to you! It's possible that she has a mate who journeyed with her to the barn and who I can write into Ophelia's history if you decide that route! It is also possible that she gave birth to her kittens at some point in the journey, and wanting a safe place for them is a reason she is so quick to join the Kingdom.  | Samson | 50-60 moons, open Ophelia's past lover and parent of Magpie and Wren. Current pronouns are he/him, but could have gender changed as long as they are AMAB/able to sire kits. His name is flexible, but he must be longhaired and have amber eyes. He is likely a grey, brown, or silver tabby (can also be solid) with less than half white. His personality and history are flexible other than what is described in Ophelia's history, and though it's unlikely he joined a clan, he can be anywhere except the kingdom. It is unknown why he didn't show up to see Ophelia again, maybe because she stopped showing up and he assumed she didn't like him anymore. He could have also been injured or captured and that's why she was unable to find him. He could be looking for her or consider her a part of his past. It's possible that he meets Hogan who tells him about Ophelia, but she is not at the barn if he goes to look. Ophelia and Samson could meet again, be it pure coincidence or because Samson is seeking her out. Ophelia will not want to rekindle a romantic relationship with him, as her feelings for him have become bittersweet with time and she has changed so much since she met him.  | Other | open I will consider adopting out other cats in Ophelia's history, such as her siblings, past litters, even Alma or Hogan if asked about them (I do not know why anyone would want Alma, lol). I would prefer that the adopts detailed above are taken first, as they are more integral to Ophelia's plot! |
