appearance
Squirrelshine is a tiny thing, fluffy ginger tabby with pale sage colored eyes.
Squirrelshine lives up to her name, with her small size and fluff. Her ginger fur is often groomed and cleaned, along with her very fluffy tail kinked over her back. No scars litter Squirrelshine's pelt, not yet anyway. Despite the small size and cute look Squirrelshine is fierce, under her fluff is lean muscle. She's trained hard and it shows with her movement, hunting especially. With her size she can navigate quietly and in smaller spaces then most cats, and uses it to her advantage in hunting.

description
Kithood: Squirrelkit doesn't remember it, but she was born in a harsh leafbare, one that left most hungry. Her mother was a loner, a She-cat who'd taken the new name Eveningfoot after begging to join the clan before she kitted. Eveningfoot was no fool, and raising kits alone in the wilderness was tough, even worse in cold season which is why she tried her luck with Mistclan, and finally, she'd found her and her daughter a safe home.
Squirrelkit was taught at a young age how important Mistclan was to them, and how they'd saved their lives. Eveningfoot often told Squirrelkit how lucky she was to be here, and how proud she'd make her clan when she became a warrior. With her goals already set Squirrelkit was determined to make her mothers words true.
She got along well with her clanmates, especially kits her age. She was polite and respectful to the older cats and happily followed her peers. Quickly she became popular and would often be invited to games.
Apprenticehood:
Finally Squirrelkit reached 6 moons, though hard to tell with how tiny she was she was named Squirrelpaw and Ravenfire was selected as her mentor. The large ebony cat didn't give much away and Squirrelpaw promised them she'd make them proud. Ravenfire didn't pull any punches, and worked Squrrielpaw hard. They told her she had to prove her worth, show the clan what an asset she could be. It was a frustrating at first but slowly like a muscle building she got better, she won more and she succeeded more. Not only that but Ravenfire actually seemed impressed!
What felt like moons, finally Squirrelpaw earned her name. Squirrelshine for her warmth and fiery protectiveness of those she cared for. The day the clan cheered her name she couldn't help but grow a little misty eyed as she realized how far she'd come. That night Squirrelshine took Eveningfoot out for a walk in the forest, a little celebration for the two of them.
Moons passed and slowly Squirrelshine's friends began to join her, the warriors den was full and she was content, and for many moons she was. Until a strange ache appeared. She hadn't noticed it before, but she realized after everyting she had never found any cat to share her life with. The thoughts plagued her, especially as the ache grew more and more. She'd had fleeting crushes as 'paw before sure but she'd never actually sought them through or tried to build a connection. romantic Love was...foreign to her.
Until Larchlight , that is. Squirrelshine wasn't sure if it was love or out of loneliness but they were there. Slowly they became Squirrelshine's rock, her best friend. They were always there and it felt nice to be loved like that, or she thought they did. She admitted to them that she loved them deeply, but didn't know if they could be mates or friends and they agreed but...why not try? They were together for a moon, before Squirrelshine noticed changes.
The visit to Mistclan's medicine cat confirmed it, she was pregnant and they were certainly Larchlights. Her mind reeled at the idea of being a mother, how could she do it? What if she failed? What would Larchlight think? Would they leave me? the last thought scared her the most.
Larchlight tracked her down after a couple days. They angrily asked why she was avoiding them and Squirrelshine came clean, the words spilling from her jaws before she could think. "Im sorry- I didn't know what to do" was all she said after a long pause. To her relief Larchlight was excited- no overjoyed at the prospect of being a parent. It made her heart soar and she nearly dropped as the amount of relief hit her. She wouldn't be alone, even if they weren't mates they were in it together.
It had been a moon since finding out when Ridgeclan launched their attack. A quiet night destroyed as screeches filled the air. She fought alongside her clan, her extra ferocity for her unborn kits who she knew could die with her. It was a miracle Prairieclan came to their aid. It was thanks to them they turned the tide and fought Ridgeclan out of their camp, but the damage was done.
Once Larchlight found out Squirrelshine had fought they flew into a flurry. Harsh words were said, and Larchlight berated her for not caring about her kits- THEIR kits. Squirrelshine was taken aback by her friends rage, she'd never seen this side of them before. Still she tried to calm him down but it seemed he'd made up his mind. After that a rift formed, only growing worse by the day. Larchlight seemed to shadow her every move like they expected Ridgeclan to jump out and attack at any moment. When she did agree to finally move to the nursery she didn't get much peace. With Larchlight , the other queens and her mother fretting over her Squirrelshine couldn't help but be stressed. Then finally her kits came and for a moment Squirrelshine only knew peace. Her little ones, two toms and a she-kit became her world. It wasn't long before Larchlight began to try and convince her to leave again. With the kits growing stronger they'd be able to travel now!" Squirrelshine was irratated, she figured these anxieties and pestering would end once their litter was here but it seemed to just be getting worse. After a day of prying she snapped that she and her kits weren't going anywere. That she was happy here with Mistclan and their kin and she'd fight to protect them if it came to it. She wasn't a coward like him. She regretted the insult immediately, seeing her friends eyes cloud with hurt and fury before walking away. That night Squirrelshine nervously curled up with her kits. Only to wake up in the morning to find them all gone, with no traces and a broken den wall. She was inconsolable, and worse she was sure she knew what happened, which only made the betrayal and fear worse. Larchlight had stolen their kits, and disappeared without a word.
