The two settled into a neutral relationship a moon after Kestrelthorn joined the apprentice den, pretty much ignoring each other until the most recent moons. Riverleap stepped up after Kestrelthorn lost Ripplepaw in Wolfstar's war, determined to prevent Kestrelthorn from slipping away in grief. Now, Riverleap is Kestrelthorn's closest friend besides Owlheart, though the two still have a lot to learn about each other.

Riverleap is a few moons older than Kestrelthorn. His name, appearance, and personality aside from what's written above are flexible. Please keep him a tom. He must be a guardian trying to convince Kestrelthorn to get guardian training.

While he and Kestrelthorn are getting closer, their friendship is still defined by friendly antagonism - they tease and taunt each other, though still nest next to each other, and spend most of their time together. Riverleap is written as a potential romance option for Kestrelthorn, though they can also stay platonic. In regards to plot, Riverleap can be the reason Kestrelthorn stays in RidgeClan, Kestrelthorn could convince Riverleap to come to the Kingdom, or the two could split when Kestrelthorn leaves.

Fogfrost and Riverleap are written as siblings, though they can also just be close friends.

When they were younger, Fogfrost was always dragged around on Riverleap's shenanigans. They're not half as irritable as Riverleap, nor were they really a bully, but they were tired. Too tired to do anything about Riverleap's bad attitude as apprentices. Too tired to make friends with Kestrelthorn sooner. Too tired to complete their own warrior training. Fogfrost was delayed by at least a moon, getting named after Riverleap, because of their chronic fatigue.

Now, Fogfrost and Kestrelthorn have an unexpectedly soft friendship. They give each other a lot of grace and patience, and both go out of their way to ensure the other is doing okay. Neither of them are soft cats, but when they're alone, they want to be soft with each other. Their relationship could potentially become romantic, but it was originally written as a close, intimate friendship.

Fogfrost's appearance, name, and personality beyond what's written here are flexible. They're originally written as a NB cat but their gender is flexible. They're written as siblings with Riverleap, but the two could also just be close friends. Like Riverleap, Fogfrost could convince Kestrelthorn to stay, end up leaving with Kestrelthorn, or see their friendship torn apart when Kestrelthorn leaves.

Neither Fallowstripe nor Kestrelthorn remember becoming friends when they were apprentices. At some point, Fallowpaw and her siblings ended up in Kestrelpaw's social circle. The two never got along, but their relationship only got worse when Fallowpaw started bullying Ripplepaw, Kestrelpaw's crush. Kestrelpaw ended his friendship with Fallowpaw and the rest of their group, and has mostly ignored them ever since.

Fallowstripe is written as a classic "mean girl" in her youth, though the direction she's grown since then is completely up to the adopter. Currently, she and Kestrelthorn don't have a relationship at all. Kestrelthorn still holds a great deal of distaste for her and her circle, but Fallowstripe's opinion on Kestrelthorn can be whatever you'd like.
