#s://i~ibb~co/x79vLh0/coyotepaw~png no tomorrow without yesterday
Coyotepaw's immediate family consists of his father, Sparrowbelly, his mother, Cloverpelt, and his three siblings, Wolfpaw, Lynxpaw, and Foxpaw. Sparrowbelly and Cloverpelt are young parents, in that neither of them were truly ready to have kits at the time that they did and hadn't prepared adequately for the consequences, but ultimately they have raised (for the most part) a close, affectionate family. Sparrowbelly is from a larger warrior family of PrairieClan, while Cloverpelt was originally a kitty-pet and her own lineage is unknown to her.
All histories are open ended, so long as they don't have conflicts with Coyotepaw's bio! DM me on discord if you want to plot these characters!
| SPARROWBELLY | 26 moons | open
Sparrowbelly is the sort of warrior who always manages to make a well timed joke, diffusing any tensions within the clan with his good humor. He's jovial and tends to have an attitude of not taking anything too seriously, for better or worse. Deep down, though, Sparrowbelly cares about his family and his clan a lot, and is very intentional about how he handles disagreement inside and outside his clan.
While having kits was an accident, his love for Cloverpelt is not. He knows her adjustment to clan life hasn't been an easy one; especially since she spent most of her time with PrairieClan so far in the nursery and is only just now catching up with learning the code and practical warrior skills. And he intends to be with her every step of the way.
PrairieClan Plot: Sparrowbelly is most likely not a contender for having the amaryllis view in the clan plot.
Sparrowbelly should be a mostly to full brown tabby. His gender is flexible; he just needs to be able to have kits with Cloverpelt. His name is also flexible, but -belly matches his personality well and since his siblings will all be named after birds, his prefix should remain some sort of bird. He should love Coyotepaw as he loves all his kits, but have some trouble understanding why he's so difficult. All other details and history can be expanded to the roleplayers preference! |
| CLOVERPELT | 26 moons | open
Cloverpelt is new to, and skeptical of, clan life. However, she is determined that PrairieClan should be her home, and she isn't afraid to fight for her place within the clan. Though some may perceive her as being soft from her upbringing, she's clever, sometimes sharp-tongued, and very resilient. The only cats she's really soft with are her mate and kits.
At this point, she's informally learning how to be a warrior. However well or not well this process goes is up to the roleplayer! She likely doesn't have rigid views on PrairieClan's current plot, because she's so unfamiliar with what's going on, but in theory she could fill the role of "pollen" in the plot adoptables ad, if she thought that figuring out a way to handle the clanless might lead to her full acceptance in the clan.
Cloverpelt is most likely a primarily white calico cat. Her gender is flexible, but she needs to be able to have kits. If the prefix Clover is taken, she can have a different floral or plant name that could reasonably be given to a mostly white or a mostly orange cat. The suffix -pelt is because the clan doesn't know her well enough to highlight another attribute. It could be neat if at some point she is renamed, based on events in the rp!
Everything else about her history and personality can be expanded to the roleplayer's preference! |
| WOLFPAW | 8 moons | open
Wolfpaw got all of Sparrowbelly's good nature and all of Cloverpelt's tact. He's very clever and likable, which sometimes leads to unfair comparison with Coyotepaw, who is not nearly as easy to get along with. Despite very clear personality differences, Wolfpaw and Coyotepaw are friendly, at least for now.
As a young apprentice, there are many directions Wolfpaw could go! He can be any gender, but for the purposes of this wanted ad he's a tom. If his name remains Wolf, he should have similar coloration to Coyotepaw (brown or grey with little or no white), but if you want to adopt him and think that his name shouldn't be Wolf (because of Wolfstar), a name like Bear could also work (and in that case his fur color should match whatever prefix you choose.) Thematically, it's fun if they're all forest predators, but if all those prefix options are taken then just a name related to a forest animal or predator would be fine! |
| LYNXPAW | 8 moons | open
Lynxpaw is in many ways Coyotepaw's partner in crime. She likes to do her own thing, even if that means wandering from camp when she isn't supposed to, or even crossing the border to explore further into the flower fields or close to the barn if that's where her desire to explore takes her. And of their siblings, Coyotepaw is the most likely to ignore the rules and tag along with her. Sometimes, she could be accused of not taking clan life seriously enough. In the future, she could either be a free-spirited member of PrairieClan, or even leave to join the Kingdom or another group, if she doesn't mind leaving her family behind.
As a young apprentice, there are many directions Lynxpaw could go! She can be any gender, but for the purposes of this wanted ad she's a she-cat. If the name Lynx is taken, she could also be Cougar, or another forest predator. She is most likely a brown and white or grey and white tabby, or whatever coloration matches her prefix. |
| FOXPAW | 8 moons | taken
Foxpaw just wants to fly under the radar and have a normal experience as an apprentice. Their siblings have such showy, noticeable personalities that they take a lot of attention off of them. They're clever, but quiet, and not likely to correct others even if they're wrong about something. It's not exactly that they're a doormat, they're just practical about where they put their effort. They don't fully get along with Coyotepaw at the moment, but that could change in the future.
As a young apprentice, there are many directions Foxpaw could go! They can be any gender, but for the purposes of this wanted ad they're nonbinary. If the name Fox is taken, a name like Raccoon or Weasel could be used instead. For Fox, they are most likely a primarily orange or orange and white cat, maybe even a calico, but they probably look more like Coyotepaw if their name is Raccoon or Weasel. |

#s://i~ibb~co/x79vLh0/coyotepaw~png here's to change
Outside of Coyotepaw's immediate family, he has roles that could be filled for friendships, mentors, and rivals. These cats are not related to him, but all have played a part in his life so far. Many of their names, backgrounds, ages, etc are entirely up to the roleplayer, as long as the relationship with Coyotepaw doesn't change! Many of these roles can also be tied in some way to PrairieClan's plot and to things happening across clans re: the kingdom, the clanless, and so forth.
| BRACKENTHORN | X moons | reserved
Brackenthorn is Coyotepaw's second mentor, replacing Snowfleck. Their relationship might be rocky at the start, but eventually Brackenthorn will find ways to connect with Coyotepaw, and Coyotepaw might help his mentor reconnect with the spirit of being a warrior along the way.
Brackenthorn is the one to suggest that Coyotepaw works with Heronpaw to support his training, so he's the first to see the shift in Coyotepaw when he starts enjoying life in the clan more.
Everything about Backenthorn is up to the roleplayer! He just has to be Coyotepaw's mentor, and to approve of him working with Heronpaw. |
| HERONPAW | 11 moons | reserved
Heronpaw is the first apprentice outside of his family that Coyotepaw really connects with. This apprentice may have had similar problems relating to his fellow apprentices when he was first named, and possibly had similar attitude problems, making them a good match for training. Whatever Heronpaw's background, there's something about Coyotepaw that he feels he can connect with, regardless of how difficult the younger apprentice makes himself out to be.
Heronpaw has a reputation of being a stoic cat, with some thinking he lacks empathy and warmth compared to the majority of PrairieClan cats. Sometimes, this is also how Heronpaw sees himself, but it isn't how Coyotepaw sees him. Coyotepaw sees a cat who went out of his way to help him, and that cat could never be described as cold or unempathetic.
Heronpaw's background, motivations, expanded personality and views on PrairieClan's plot are entirely up to the roleplayer. |
| VULTUREPAW | 8 moons | reserved
Vulturepaw is a weirdo, which might be why he's the only cat outside of family that Coyotepaw was friendly with growing up. Vulturepaw was discovered abandoned by a loner outside of the territory, who suggested to a passing patrol that a clan would be more capable of raising the boy then he would be. With entirely unknown origins and no family, he was raised by one of the nursery queens who was willing to take him as her own. *As a strong suggestion, Vulturepaw can be related to Brightpaw's backstory - reach out to tor!
As a kit, Vulturepaw was a chatterbox, always getting underfoot and curious about what others are doing. However, while he's definitely an odd cat (almost eery in the way he acts), he also knew how to turn on the charm from a young age, so it's hard for anyone to say they truly dislike him. In the future he may be a bit of a flirt.
Vulturepaw has a tendency to pop up unexpectedly. He's very stealthy, a trait that is already aiding him well as an apprentice. He has an uncanny ability to know what's going on - he tends to know what others need. He may remain a warrior apprentice forever, or an odd connection with StarClan may lead him to the medicine cat's den to continue his apprenticeship there instead.
Vulturepaw should be a dark colored cat, around the same age as Coyotepaw (though it's hard to say for certain, since the circumstances of his birth are unknown.) His expanded personality, backstory, etc are up to the roleplayer! If the prefix Vulture is taken, a similarly spooky name would be fun for him. His gender is also open to whatever the roleplayer chooses! |
| WHEATPAW | 11 moons | reserved
Wheatpaw is the apprentice Coyotepaw got into a fight with about a moon ago. A scratch mark still remains across his face from the altercation. It's very likely that he still holds a grudge and would go out of his way to antagonize Coyotepaw, especially now that both of them are apprentices and Wheatpaw has seniority in the den. He may have a problem with outsiders, or he might not and his problem is exclusively with Coyotepaw. Basically everything is up to the roleplayer, including name! Wheat is just a placeholder (though you're welcome to use it, lol.)
Everything else about this character is up to the roleplayer! Perhaps in the future they can resolve their differences, or perhaps this will be a lifelong rivalry that we can explore through everything that PrairieClan faces in the moons to come. |
| SNOWFLECK | 60+ moons | open
Snowfleck is Coyotepaw's first mentor. He is not a cat known for patience or tolerance and is very gruff in manner - a mix that did not work well for Coyotepaw. The two got along so poorly that they might carry a record for the quickest apprentice reassignment in recent clan history.
Snowfleck likely was among the warriors who was sent to help MistClan fight RidgeClan. He very likely holds to the Amaryllis view in the clan plot, believing that PrairieClan needs to present themselves with pride as the strong clan that they are. If that means out driving out the weak links and the clanless, then so be it. PriarieClan's charity can only go so far.
Everything about Snowfleck, including name and appearance, are up to the roleplayer! Just make him a grump.

#s://i~ibb~co/x79vLh0/coyotepaw~png just leave it to yesterday
Sparrowbelly's family: the first one to pick up either Sparrowbelly or one of his siblings or parents can really set the tone for how the family's background is in PrairieClan. They're a long line of warriors, respected in their clan, but exactly what happened in their histories and how the parents got together I wanted to leave up to whoever adopts them. How they feel personally about Sparrowbelly bringing in an outsider is also up to the rper! | OWLGAZE | 46-54 moons | open
Owlgaze is a steady, reserved warrior who cares deeply for his clan. He is most often the practical voice of reason, calming the storm whenever disagreement rises. A diplomatic cat, he is likely one of the warriors who has tried to make peace with the clanless and has attempted to resolve conflict with MistClan and RidgeClan, with little success.
Owlgaze is complemented by Nightstorm, who is not nearly as patient nor as diplomatic, but is passionate and helps him see when being impartial isn't working. Though stern, Owlgaze and Nightstorm were doting parents, and still love their offspring dearly.
Owlgaze should be somewhere between 46-54 moons, similar in color to Coyotepaw and Sparrowbelly, and named after some sort of bird. His history, expanded personality, and any other details are up to the roleplayer! As always his gender is flexible, he just needs to be able to have kits with Nightstorm. His relationship with Coyotepaw is distant, but he is his grandfather and does look out for him when he can. |
| NIGHTSTORM | 46-54 moons | open
Nightstorm is charismatic, passionate, and quick to make judgment on others. She can come off as intense, even a little bit mean, but it comes from a place of caring and devotion. Basically, her bed side manner sucks, but the results speak for themselves. She's there for other queens when their struggling, lends a paw when the elders of medicine cat needs it, and has a cutting comment to put apprentices on the right track always ready.
Though not a diplomat, Nightstorm is a little bit of a gossip, and has a circle of cross-clan friendships that often share tongues during gatherings to exchange stories and rumors they've heard in the recent moon. She prefers to share less than she hears, but she's sure the other warriors do the same. Loyalty is important, after all.
Nightstorm is complemented by Owlgaze, who is not nearly as expressive or decisive, but who helps calm her when she's feeling overly irritated or stuck on something that's happened in the clan. Though stern, Owlgaze and Nightstorm were doting parents, and still love their offspring dearly.
Nightstorm should be somewhere between 46-54 moons. She is a black cat or a mostly black cat (she could also be a dark tortie) and her prefix should reflect that. Her history, expanded personality, and any other details are up to the roleplayer! As always her gender is flexible, she just needs to be able to bare kits. Her relationship with Coyotepaw is a little less distant than Owlgaze's, just on account of personality, but she knows it's hard for a young, troubled apprentices to listen to his elders and their bond really just needs time to grow. |
| DOVEFLOWER | 26 moons | open
Doveflower is not the greatest warrior. He's not significantly strong, and while his hunting ability is perfectly adequate, it's not really much to brag about. Doveflower's real skill is bringing out the best in those around him and making his clan mates feel connected with each other. He's very sociable and doesn't tend to judge others no matter what their perspective is, so he's pretty easy to get along with. That said, he can be just as sharp as his mother when he needs to be.
Doveflower could hold any one of the plot views, so long as he is gentle about it and isn't choosing a path of unnecessary violence. His relationship with Sparrowbelly is very fond and he gets along well with his mate and kits, too.
Doveflower's name is flexible, but the prefix should remain a bird and the suffix should reflect his personality. He is intended to be a trans male, but that's not a hard requirement. He should look similar to his family members, being some sort of tabby with little or no white or being a torbie. His history and personality are up to the roleplayer! |
| JAYTALON | 26 moons | open
In some ways, Jaytalon was the Coyotepaw of her generation. She didn't have the same challenges an apprentice with kitty-pet heritage might, but she did struggle to follow the rules and took them more as suggestions than strict lines she had to follow. And she was very competitive, making her a little bit difficult to get along with growing up. Because of this, she has some longstanding rivalries with other warriors who were apprentices at the same time that she was. And even though she's largely mellowed out, not all of them have.
Jaytalon has cool RPG older sister energy, even though she doesn't have any younger siblings. She's happy to give advice to her brother's kits, and even more happy to be a space for them to vent. She gets along well with her siblings, for the most part, but has definitely snapped at Sparrowbelly for not taking things seriously enough before.
Jaytalon's name is flexible, but the prefix should remain a bird and the suffix should reflect her abilities. Her gender is flexible and she should look like her family, being that she's some sort of tabby. Her history and expanded personality are up to the roleplayer! |
| CROWLEAP | 26 moons | open
Crowleap and Raventhorn are like twin shadows, even though their personalities are not really "shadow" like. Crowleap is athletic, a little bit competitive in a playful way, and a little bit of a himbo in that sometimes, he lacks what his family might call common sense. He gets along best with Raventhorn, as the pair are often together, but he loves all his siblings.
Of all his family, Sparrowbelly aside, he is the most likely to be friendly with an outsider cat, because he assumes the best in others and avoids jumping to conclusions. He's also not easily offended, but like all in his family that doesn't mean he can't stand up for himself or be mean/selfish at times. Usually it doesn't come from a place of ill will.
Crowleap's name is flexible, but the prefix should remain a dark colored bird and the suffix should reflect his abilities. His gender is flexible and he should be a black cat, to match Raventhorn. His history and expanded personality are up to the roleplayer! Through Raventhorn's and Whiskey's connection, Crowleap will meet Cranberry and the intention is that this will be his romance plot. It's up to you and Cranberry's roleplayer whether they will end up both in PrairieClan or both as barn cats/clanless cats, or even both Kingdom cats. |
| RAVENTHORN | 26 moons | taken
Raventhorn and Crowleap are like twin shadows, even though their personalities are not really "shadow" like. Raventhorn is deeply protective of his family, undyingly loyal, very stubborn, and snarky in a similar way to his mother and some of his siblings. While he gets along with all of his family, he spends the most time with Crowleap, which was also true when they were apprentices.
Raventhorn is clever, and sometimes appears a little reserved when compared with the rest of his family. He does prefer to observe and take a more support role when it comes to clan affairs, but like his mother he does enjoy cross-clan relationships and overhearing gossip. Raventhorn has a sharp memory, so he's not likely to forget something he's experienced. This may make him excellent council for high ranking members of the clan later, since he can report anything he's seen or heard.
Raventhorn's name is flexible, but the prefix should remain a dark colored bird and the suffix should reflect his personality. His gender is flexible and he should be a black cat, to match Crowleap. His history and expanded personality are up to the roleplayer! Raventhorn will meet a cat named Whiskey, who he will have a strong connection with and will eventually have a romance with. The outcome of that romance is up to the roleplayers. |
