appearance
When a significant amount of time has gone into grooming him, one can see the brilliance of his alabaster coat he will one day take great pride in but for now disrespects readily by taking dirt baths and seemingly being magnetically attracted to anything muddy. His face, legs, ears and tail are all accented by fiery orange that continues to darken as he ages. While all kittens are born with blue eyes, his are here to stay, constantly glinting with a hint of mischief.
It isn't uncommon for him to return to the nursery with shed gorse tangled in his pelt as many warriors have caught him trying to escape the confines of camp to explore, much to his caregiver's embarrassment.

description
[ 0 - 5 MOONS ] Born the only surviving kit of Mushroomstar and Pebblewhisker, Avenskit was an intimidating force to be around even before he could hear or see. To say he's privileged might not be the most correct term, but it isn't completely inaccurate. His status as Mushroomstar's son has given many of the queens of the nursery pause, and until he was weaned he was passed from queen to queen to nurse, never quite being given the time to bond with any of them or their kits on a familial level - the queens nervous Avenskit might mistake them for his late mother. That wasn't to say they were unkind. All of them were kind, perhaps even too kind and lenient with him in comparison to their biological children - which has earned him a few small envious enemies in the nursery. His favorite caregiver is Quietstream however. She was the only one not nervous to be around him, treating him like a normal kit, even though she made no attempts to assert herself as a "replacement" mother. Avenskit considers her something of an aunt, and her litter - which are half a moon older than him - cousins. Often he slept in her nest when confined to the nursery, but his favorite place was sneaking out to the rocks that shelter the leader's den and burrowing in next to his father.
With a loving, but busy, father, once weaned Avenskit became the collective responsibility of nearly all of Ridgeclan to supervise. This often left him with blindspots in that supervision to sneak away and distract the warriors and apprentices around camp. His main haunt being the groups of guardians, especially at mealtime - whom he "harasses" with endless questions as to how to be "the best guardian ever." Many tell him he should worry about that more when he becomes an apprentice, which only drives the ambitious kit to their apprentices asking what their mentors are teaching them. He wants to be a strong guardian like his father, and there is nothing anyone can really do to make him be more patient.
Despite his age and pugnacious nature, he is already forming the basis of a strong moral foundation. While he might terrorize the clan with his roguish behavior, he never actively picks fights with those who are smaller than him or don't fight back. He hates bullies with a passion and will gladly take it upon himself to intercede on the behalf of the other kits in the nursery, or even young apprentices twice his size to come and try and bully him instead. While Avenskit doesn't see his father as a shield, few apprentices meet his challenge pound for pound - which only inflates the kit's ego and results with them sometimes in the medicine den with poultices on their tails, as he pretends they are hawks and holds nothing back.
But he isn't just a ball of fluff, rage and violence waiting for an outlet. Once you are let into his inner circle (currently only occupied by his father) Avenskit is revealed to be quite the sensitive child. He takes words - both praising and cruel - very personally. The little tom has a few topics that tend to press his launch button and most of them revolve around criticism - or even what he perceives - as criticism towards his family or clan. Already he is becoming deeply reverent towards Starclan in which his mother is a part of. When the night sky is clear of clouds and he's in a particularly glum mood, you can find him staring at the silverpelt, waiting to find a star that glows brighter than the rest which he's convinced is his mother trying to smile at him.

Pre-Plotting: Too young to truly understand the concept of the war before his birth, Avenspaw doesn't currently fall into any of the plot attitudes for his clan. He doesn't understand why some of the other clans are mad, and while he's asked about the name Wolfstar he keeps hearing, he hasn't gotten any concerte answers besides he was the leader before his father who did something some believe is bad and others believe was justified. The closest adults in his life fall under Saturn however, and it is likely he will come to share their views on religion and clan culture.
▪ Family: Avenspaw all but worships his father Mushroomstar. To him the tri-colored tom is an infallible warrior and he is the only one who Avenspaw will listen to when it comes to changing his behavior. He fully understands why his father can't be there all the time for him, since he is leading the clan, but it doesn't stop him from secretly craving more time, especially private time where he feels safe enough to be more vulnerable. While not a family member per se, "Aunt" Quietstream is usually the one he gets carried to when he makes trouble. She's never been too hard on him, instead encouraging him to think more empathetically towards other cats and tries to channel his endless energy into something constructive rather than destructive. A devout cat, she also encourages him to draw closer to Skyclan when he voices missing his mother. Secretly, she - like Mushroomstar - is one of the two cats he fears losing, even if around other kits and apprentices he may treat her more coldly in order to seem more grown up.
▪ Friends: Sociable, Avenspaw enjoys making friends. He'd especially get along with fellow mischief-makers and rambunctious sorts that like to play-wrestle.
▪ Romance: He is but a wee child right now. But in the future he will take an interest in Berrypaw.
▪ Rivals: While he's too young to have a proper long-standing rival, there are a few kits in the nursery who are envious of what they think is the special treatment for his parentage. And likely an apprentice or two with a bone to pick when he is of proper sparring age.
