Eggpaw adorns a lot of characteristics from his mother. He shared the same color of fur as Fawnstep's white patches. Around his nose, back-legs, and tail, he has light-brown shading and stripes around the area, which become more prominent as he grows up. Compared to other MistClan and barn cats, he is small and lean. He has blue eyes that stay with him throughout his whole life and folded ears.
description
kithood [0 - 6 moons]
Remembering things was never really your strongest trait. You don't really remember how you got to MistClan, unless your mom tells you. But usually, it gets forgotten again.
But as far as you know, you are normal.
From an early age, however, the trouble you had with remembering simple details became apparent for Fawnstep. Prongspring advocated for you to be taken to the medicine cat den for evaluation, and your mother agreed. The medicine cat, Lotusfire, did many types of tests on you throughout the next few days, before they said that your memory would not favor you into become a warrior. You became upset at the old cat, and despite the other cats being respective toward the council member, they were determined to be able to help you recover.
At two moons old, you already started the basic training. Nothing serious, but just trying to see what you can retain by the time of your apprentice ceremony. Prongspring, your mother's friend and sort-of the other parent you never had, takes most of the initiative to teach you things. Even with her normally bossy nature, she takes a liking to teaching you things, despite any setbacks that you have from your memory problems.
Your "training" mostly consists of things that wouldn't do you any harm, like fighting and hunting stances, though you find it hard to remember them from day to day. In addition, some warriors take the time to teach you basic sign language in order to speak to Hawthorntail, should you need it.
However, the prognosis is not good. It takes you all the way up to your apprenticeship to naturally remember the fighting stance, the hunting stance, and every other little thing that warriors contribute to teach you. You know that Fawnstep and Prongspring are worried about you, as you hear them talking the night before your ceremony. Hearing them talk about your future so sadly makes tears well up in your eyes, as you never wanted to disappoint them. You try to be curious and optimistic about learning everything, but you just can't remember it. Anxiety fills your belly as you are anxious about your ceremony, but a moving figure in the sunseting sky catches your attention.
Hawthorntail, making their way out of the camp, probably to head to the Stonemark.
You've always been curious about it, and with your parent's unfortunate distraction, you take the chance to sneak after them.
You are close behind the historian, as you keep to the shrub and flora to conceal yourself. However, once you both get to the open area of the Stonemark, you are easily seen.
"Eggkit? What are you doing out here!? Kits stay in camp!" Hawthorntail says, as you pick up on the general message just by their body language. You're in trouble.
"I'm sorry," you sign, with the sloppy appearance of your signing apparent. "I'm... curious." You try to remember everything you were taught. "Stories."
You feel your slender tail and folded ears against your body, as both embarrassment and worry rush over you, trying to make you smaller than you already are. Hawthorntail stands there for a moment, more than likely trying to figure out what to say to the escaped kit.
"Come on," he continues. There was annoyance in their face still, but something more. You follow, as you admire all the marks. You both settle at a part of the Stonemark where the scratches are new, with the carvings not being weathered by the rain and elements.
Hawthorntail sits and ushers you to sit with them, as both of your eyes carefully traced the marks. "This is the story of Honeysong and the fox," Hawthorntail begins, showing each marking and their meaning. Then, after the story, Hawthorntail looks at you, with their normal blank expression. "Now, what does this symbol mean?" You look at it, with the scratches being defined in your mind.
"That means 'fox', right?" You look at the flame-pointed cat, with now contentment on their face. And before you can say anything else, it dawns on you. "I... I remember! I remember what the markings mean! I can understand them!" Your tiny form starts bouncing around the area near the older cat, with small mews escaping you.
Just like anything, it takes you a little longer than normal to remember every marking, but it takes you record time to remember it compared to anything you were taught before. The markings are straight forward to you, and reading them has proved to everyone that you can be useful.
Alongside Oatkit, you both are given your apprentice names. Despite Hailstar agreeing that you can be a full-time historian student from the start, there is no denying you need basic training in fighting and hunting. Prongspring was adamant that she continue to help you learn. So, as you get your new name, Prongspring is assigned as your mentor, despite being in historian studies as well.
Prongspring is patient with you. But you know it is probably still hard for her to teach when your memory problem relapses. You do everything that you can to try to be a good apprentice. Usually, after lessons, you sneak off to a large stone near the Stonemark to come up with your own markings to remember what you had just been taught. You don't want to let your mentor down, ever, especially since she is so close to all the cats that raised you and Fawnstep.
As time goes on, however, you find yourself wrapped up in cleaning the training area with Swanpaw and Cloudpaw. You become friends with them pretty quickly, as you are added to their group of friends.

Pre-Plotting: Eggpaw is directly adopted from Spiderleap's wanted ad. He plays the role of "Barleypaw".
In addition, he serves as a "groupie" for Cloudpaw's and Swanpaw's wanted ad, the "Scratch" role of the Baldur's Gate wanted ad, and later in life, the "trusted ones" role for Elkpaw's wanted ad.
Eggpaw aligns with the "Branches" plot view from MistClan's plot adoptables.
