sandstrike
Sandstrike is [Minnowtail]’s love interest at 22 moons old. She is a MistClan cat and is likely a warrior, but could be a weaver. Her age must remain the same and she has to be a she-cat, though she doesn’t have to be afab. Nearly everything else about her is up to her adopter, including her name and appearance. The following is only a potential guide to a description for her and isn’t set in stone.
Minnowkit and Sandkit connected pretty fast. They were born just days apart, so they grew up alongside one another. Their favorite thing to do was cause trouble, but they’d occasionally engage in less… irksome activities. Sandkit’s father likely didn’t want to be involved, so her mother raised her alone. Sandkit was a lot to handle, so her mother was often exhausted, but still, she’d do anything for her daughter. It was clear how much they cared about one another.
After their apprentice ceremony, Minnowpaw and Sandpaw’s bond only strengthened. They loved training together and they’d help each other complete their chores. Unfortunately, their time together as apprentices wouldn’t last. They made a surprisingly formidable pair in the war, but were quickly separated. In the aftermath of the battle, when Sandpaw discovered Minnowpaw had suffered a severe injury, she rushed to the medicine cat den and refused to leave her friend’s side.
Minnowpaw was unconscious for a few days, but in that time, Sandpaw rarely left the medicine cat’s den. Even after Minnowpaw moved into the elders’ den, Sandpaw would visit frequently, bringing with her meals to share and offering to guide her friend around camp. Not much later, Sandpaw started to drift from Minnowpaw’s side. Minnowpaw didn’t seem to be feeling any better, her pessimism only increasing, and Sandpaw wasn’t sure how to help her friend.
They were named warriors together and stood vigil together, but Minnowtail wasn’t interested in talking. Sandstrike still visited the elders’ den, but only to deliver fresh-kill, and even then, Minnowtail wouldn’t even look at her. Minnowtail had successfully pushed everyone away, including Sandstrike, who has since found new friends. But Sandstrike can’t forget the sound of Minnowtail’s laughter, a noise she finds so lovely that she’d give anything to hear it again.
Sandstrike will try to rebuild her friendship with Minnowtail. She likely feels guilty about giving up on Minnowtail so quickly, though it wasn’t like Minnowtail made it easy to support her. Sandstrike is probably also angry with Minnowtail for rejecting support and for the role she played in starting their friendship down the path to destruction. Feelings are likely to develop over time, but it’s possible Sandstrike’s had feelings for Minnowtail for some time and hasn’t been able to move on.
