Littlewing's mate, Petalnose, gave birth to their kits, with only one being the survivor. However, it wasn't long after that the she-cat began to become weaker and weaker. Petalnose eventually succumbed to her weakness and passed away, leaving Littlewing in shabbles and Lilykit without a mother. 

After the death of Petalnose, Dappledfern, who was close friends to Littlewing, stepped in to take care of Lilykit. The two took turns, and eventually their friendship turned into something more. Littlewing confessed that he had grown feelings for Dappledfern, and they joined together as mates.


Applekit was the last kit, born after Plumkit and Pearkit. The she-kit was small, tiny even. Her size and being sickly right after birth made the clan question if she would survive. However, she prevailed.
