redstrike
Redstrike is [Rowanheart]’s sister and best friend at 40 moons old. She is also littermates with [Rosewhisker].
From the start, Redstrike loved attention and getting it came easy to her. She’s naturally talented and sociable, the most charming cat anyone will ever meet, and it helps that she’s drop-dead gorgeous. However, like every other cat, she has her flaws, too. While she likes to pretend she’s altruistic, Redstrike is selfish, the type of cat who only helps others for the praise she’ll receive instead of out of the good of her heart. She also doesn’t see the point in going above and beyond. She doesn’t need to be great when she’s content being good.
Redkit and Rowankit instantly connected. Despite their differences, they were best friends from the moment they opened their eyes. Rowankit would engage in Redkit’ gossiping and she’d play with him when he asked her to. They didn’t always agree, but they were able to talk things through instead of argue about it, unlike Redkit and Rosekit. While the two fought often, if a denmate spoke poorly of one sister, the other would jump to defend her. Redkit also got along with Russetkit, who she thought was sweet and fun.
Redpaw was named Redstrike before any of her littermates. She wasn’t interested in becoming a guardian and so she graduated as a full warrior, but she still made time for Rowanpaw. When Russetpaw vanished, Redstrike searched for him for days with the rest of her family. She was both devastated and terrified when Russetpaw’s body was found. While she grieved for her brother, she also realized how dangerous the life of a warrior was. She easily could’ve been the one to have fallen into the river, but Russetpaw had been the unlucky one. Redstrike found comfort in Rowanpaw.
Redstrike knew Rowanpaw better than he knew himself, so she noticed when he developed a crush on Juniperpaw, a MistClan apprentice. She warned him to be careful and he promised he would be. As the moons passed, she watched Rowanheart’s feelings for Junipernose grow. Redstrike was happy that he was happy and she would listen to him go on and on about the MistClan cat, but he was also her best friend, the one cat she’d put before herself, and she was afraid he’d either get himself caught or leave her behind for Junipernose.
Like Rowanheart, Redstrike heard about Junipernose’s miscarriage at a Gathering. She knew the news would destroy her brother, but she didn’t get the chance to pull him aside and tell him herself before she saw him flee the Gathering. Ever since, Rowanheart hasn’t been himself and it pains Redstrike to see her brother hurting.
