appearance
A tall and lithe cat with a long white coat speckled with orange tabby markings.
While Lilyflight fits in height-wise among her clan and kin, that's the extend her ability to match the expected image of a Ridgeclan cat. Her height comes from long legs, the rest of her form is filled with lithe muscle and long fur. Her coat almost makes up for the lack of bulk in her body, but even then she looks downright delicate among her clanmates.
Her coat is largely white, with her family's telltale ginger markings only showing up in brief splotches along her back and tail. Delicate and pale tabby markings line her orange eyes. Tufts of fur top her ears, adding a little extra height to the already tall she-cat.

description
One tiny part of a prestigious whole. Lilykit knew her place, even from a young age. The nursery had already welcomed many her siblings and cousins and all manner of relatives. They'd moved onto other dens, making their way and their mark on the world.
There was a weight to being younger. To watching her cousins grow up and become warriors before she became an apprentice. Rainpaw was the medicine cat apprentice, Stormpaw started to train as a guardian. Her siblings had already made their marks, Rosewhisker's tracking skill and Rowanheart's courage left big pawsteps to follow. No matter how fast she grew and how far she moved, she was always stuck behind them.
Of course there were others. Gingerfang's family was large and impressive. So many children and grandchildren and nieces and nephews. So many already established, already known and trusted.
The fear of failing to measure up to them snuck into Lilykit's mind as she grew. By the time she was ready to be apprenticed, it consumed her. On that fateful day she could barely contain the fear in her body as Appleheart and Tawnystripe did their best to groom her fur and prepare her. Toadfeather was a fine choice in mentor, though she could barely hear either his or Wolfstar's words through the pounding of her heart.
Her fear only grew as she began training. While logic would dictate that she was too young to be good at anything, much less everything, every failed fight or hunt seemed to grow that gap between her and those around her.
She threw herself into her studies, hiding her fears and failures from her family.
Eventually she began to improve. Some areas were easier. Lilypaw was fast, and her jumping skill made her a promising bird hunter. But it was clear that she'd never make the leap from hunting sparrows to hawks, floundering in guardian training. Another failure.
Fight trained didn't fare much better. In a direct spar she'd lose more often than not. It was only in matches where she could keep a good distance or get a height advantage that she stood much chance. It was hardly honorable. Another failure.
It wasn't enough to be okay at hunting birds. Lilypaw did her best to lean into her strengths, working on being faster, jumping farther, running longer than those around her. To be the ideal patrolmate, skilled at hunting and never tried no matter how many times she had to circle the territory.
No matter how much she improved, it was never enough.
Lilypaw never felt like she stood out as much as her family. In a sky of stars hers was dim, easily looked over by the more brilliant ones around her. She had to find some way to stand out.
Wolfstar gave her that way.
Not directly, of course. But his religious fervor caught her attention. There was opportunity there. And relief. For someone who struggled to feel seen, the though of being favored by Starclan was intoxicating. And if they could reclaim the moonpool, wouldn't that be something? Wouldn't that be enough for her to finally shine?
She hadn't quite received her name when the attack was launched. Part of her hoped she'd get it on the other side of the fight, victorious and finally worth something more.
It did not go as planned. The fight was bloody and brutal. Cats of all the clans died. Including Wolfstar. Then Spiderstorm stepped down, and the Sootwhisker.
Her mentor is chosen as the new deputy, her cousin is the new medicine cat.
And she is Lilyflight. Named for her speed and jumping ability. It doesn't feel good, getting her name. Not in the wake of what happened. Not while knowing her attempts to stand out lead her down a dark path. Not while somehow feeling lesser than ever before.
The only relief she knows is to throw herself into her work. To hunt and patrol and try to find a meaning once more.
Thankfully there's always something to do. It becomes easier and easier to hide her fears and failures and regrets by putting on a confident facade. She'd started it as an apprentice, and perfected it as a warrior.
To the clan and her family Lilyflight showed her best parts. The hard worker. The hunter. The never still, always eager to help and always ready to lend an ear and offer a kind word.
She hid away her fears and insecurities, listening to and encouraging the praise for her family while suffocating under them. Each accomplishment a claw mark to her heart and ego. She has to live up to them, even if it feels impossible.

personality
Lilyflight is largely motivated by a fear of failure, though she does her best to hide this from others and project an image of a confident and competent warrior.

relations
Pre-Plotting: Lilyflight is the granddaughter of Gingerfang and the younger sister of Rosewhisker. She's also Toadfeather's first apprentice as mentioned in his wanted ad. She bests falls in Saturn or Mars in the Ridgeclan adoptables, unsure how to feel about accepting help from outside groups, but certain Ridgeclan must move past their old ways.
Family: The attention and respect of her family is a driving force behind Lilyflight. The pressure of trying to live up to her family and their legacy is both motivating and stifling for her. She loves them, but often keeps a distance from them out of fear of failing to live up to their expectations.
Friends: Friendship isn't the easiest thing for Lilyflight, she's kind and cares about others but often keeps busy and isn't the most open about her own issues, despite being quick to help others with their own.
Romance: Love sounds nice and all, but Lilyflight is often too focused on her duties to bother with it. Her insecurity and urge to please others makes the idea of finding love mildly terrifying to the young she-cat, since that requires a lot more emotional openness than she's prepared to show.
Rivals: Lilyflight would love to have some rivals, cats to challenge her.
