Acorn is [Luca]’s adopted daughter and also an apprentice of The Kingdom. What faction she joined, as well as what she’s training to be, is up to her adopter. Almost everything about her is up to her adopter, including her name, appearance, and gender, though she must be 10 moons old.

Acorn was very young when she met Luca - two moons old, to be exact. She and her older brother, Cedar, who was eight moons older than her, had been separated from their parents just a couple weeks before. They were quickly found by Echo, who helped them search for their parents. Unsuccessful, the three of them started traveling, looking for somewhere to settle down. That’s when they stumbled upon Luca. Acorn, perhaps partially due to her innocence, instantly trusted him and rapidly became quite fond of him.

Luca and Echo took on parental roles for both Acorn and Cedar. Acorn was happy about it, though Cedar was not. Cedar was incredibly protective of Acorn and while he’d come to trust Echo around his sister, it took much longer for him to warm up to Luca. Acorn was six moons old when Echo died defending Luca from a rogue. Of course, she took Echo’s death hard and found comfort in staying close to her brother and Luca. When they arrived at their destination, Acorn and Cedar decided to continue traveling with Luca instead of settling down.

Early into leaf-bare, when Acorn was seven moons old, she lost her brother. She’d tripped and fallen onto the frozen river and when Cedar had carefully ventured out to shove her back to the river’s edge, the ice gave way beneath him. Cedar had rescued her, but it had cost him his life in the process. Acorn, who had once been lively and curious, became quiet and dispirited after her brother’s demise. Her bond with Luca only strengthened after and he never failed to treat her like an equal, even consulting her about whether or not they should join The Kingdom.
