#s://i~ibb~co/XSZtWPV/Turtlewhisker-posting-pic~jpg Turtlewhisker "Snailpaw, try to keep up" the tortoiseshell's tail flicked with annoyance as she glanced over her shoulder at her apprentice. Turtlewhisker sometimes wondered if the young feline possessed the heart of a warrior, they were easily distracted with their head in the clouds. Or, rather a bit closer to home, to the tunnels which her father seemed to hold so close to his heart. But Snailpaw was young, impressionable, there was still time to set her on the right path - and steer her away from the death trap that awaited her below ground. She slowed to wait for the pale apprentice to catch up, gaze narrowing with disdain as she did so. Two moons into her training and she expected Snailpaw to be able to match her pace, despite their shorter legs and the deep snow that had settled on the ground. "Tell me, what do you need to consider when hunting in the snow?" she posed the question, drawing a paw over a mottled ear as she sat. There were birds in the trees, welcoming the morning in with a sweet melody, taunting the cats below who hungered for fresh kill. Turtlewhisker barely remembered what going to bed with a full stomach felt like, leaf-bare made hunting difficult and she hoped that today Snailpaw might prove to be a skilled hunter. Starclan knew that Prairieclan could benefit from a good meal. If only the snow wouldn't hinder their efforts.

Snailpaw trudged after their mentor, struggling through the thick blanket of snow that had settled over their territory. She was usually able to walk on top, but this snow was soft and even her light frame was sinking into it. She didn't catch the way her mentor was looking at her, the intricacies of expressions not visible to her eyes. They could only tell that the tortoiseshell had stopped, seemingly waiting for them. "Sorry Turtlewhisker," they meowed, somewhat subdued. Even if they couldn't see the warrior's face, they heard the tone of her voice. She wasn't very happy, and Snailpaw didn't know why.
"Tell me, what do you need to consider when hunting in the snow? It seemed this was where they were stopping, and Snailpaw finally cast her gaze to the horizon. They were on the edge of a treeline, a thicket of branches and trunks one way. I can hear the birds... they're probably in the trees, though. I don't think I can climb. I guess if Turtlewhisker wants me to try, I will! Maybe then she'll think I'm ready for tunneler training... Realizing with a start that they hadn't answered their mentor's question, they blinked and turned back to her. Hesitating for another moment longer, she mewed "Um... you have to be very quiet. Because it's hard to stalk in the snow and the prey can hear you."
