ant adopts
Since fleeing Ridgeclan those many moons ago, Ant had come to know the meaning of peace. Whether she's been buried in an empty spot in the wake of that battle or branded a traitor, she tries not to care about what those left behind might think; the sins of her parents cannot reach her here, in the barn...
But with the Cabin Sect growing restless and angrier and rumors of tensions brewing in the clans, Ant is facing the reality that her past cannot simply be left to the wind; it will, eventually, circle back to roost...
And as her friend becomes someone she doesn't recognize anymore, a restless unease has taken root in Ant's heart; it feels like the other shoe is going to drop - and it is quickly (simply) becoming a question of where to run when it does. This tentative sanctuary they have found is now in danger from all sides, the walls are closing in...
For there is one, sad truth in life: all good things have an end.(And, as they say: once a runner, always a runner)

For consideration:
Names are open to change, though I ask for clan cats that you try to keep the original reasonings in mind and not deviate from that (i.e. change a color-based prefix to a litter naming theme). Images are suggestions and links to get a better look at the cat used are provided at the end of each adoptable's section; if you want to change the image, all I ask you run it by me first! Unless specifically noted, gender is not open. I also pre-plotting roles or ideas with some cats too, but those are merely suggestions too.

Soot is a rogue of the Cabin Sect and a follower of Foxglove, sharing his adamant hatred for the clans. Though the reason why she has never shared with another soul, she defiantly has an "us vs them" mentality when it comes to the clans of the valley. As news of the new group on the mountain top has spread among the clanless, something has started to change in Soot: its like a dark kind of rot has begun to take root in her soul. (How dare those "Kingdom" cats take more territory from hapless clanless cats in the guise of abandoning their clans, while letting the clans continue to exist and plague the area?) Where once was a cat that disliked the clans but worked hard to remain level-headed and open-minded about cats like Ant, things are beginning to drastically change. Perhaps there's more than one catalyst to this shift? While currently Ant and Soot are still close and still see each other as sisters, Soot's growing zealotry and exclusiveness will eventually drive Ant away. The "how" is up to you; maybe she starts to speak of Ant's former life as a blemish on their character, perhaps she starts to pretend Ant was never a clan cat to start with, or even tries to convince Ant to join the Cabin Sect? Whatever the cause, Soot is going to chase her once-friend back into the mountains... and to the Kingdom. [The image currently suggested for Soot is a black cat, but her appearance and history aside from what is glimpsed in Ant's bio are up to you!] |

Of all her siblings, Ant's half-sister Beechleap is the most unremarkable. She is not the smartest or the strongest and her dreams of being a guardian were crushed early on when she showed she cared more for the prestige of being a guardian than actually protecting her clanmates. However, instead of admitting any fault of her own, she blamed Ant's existence in the clan for her "demotion" and mentor change - why else would she be turned down, if not because her clanless-half-sibling lurking about, reminding everyone that Beechleap and her family were half-clan themselves. She was outraged at being stuck in Ridgeclan camp with her mother and siblings as a young warrior when Ridgeclan went to take over the Mooncave, but held her tongue. She likely was not upset to learn that Ant vanished during the fight and, being a daddy's girl, likely believes Pebblestorm when he mutters about Ant fleeing the battle like a traitor. She is not a fan of the new Kingdom and likely would be open to antagonizing any former clanmates that joined the new group, wanting to oust the traitors from the mountain top. [This is the image featured to the left, but I am open to Beechleap becoming a cream or red tabby too; colorpoints are also an option, as long as they are fawn, cream or red.] |

All brawn and no brain, Ant's half-sister Kestrelclaw is the strongest of her litter. Of all her siblings, Kestreclaw takes the most after her father, Pebblestorm, and is also a complete daddy's girl like Beechleap. Following in her father's footsteps, she became a guardian. Formerly the runt of her litter, she grew rapidly and bulked out as she underwent apprenticed training. She's also exceedingly pretty and knows it - and, if you got the strength and the looks, why do would you need to brains? She is also, surprisingly, more a follower than a leader and she tends to lurk about in Beechleap's shadow (metaphorically, since she towers over her fluffy sister). Ant's cleverest half-sibling, their brother Lightscreech has worked just as hard (if not harder) than his sisters to prove himself a true Ridgeclan warrior. He quickly outgrew bullying the nuisance that was his older sister, but that was because he decided he had better ways to spend his time - like training. He tends to have a resting bitch face and, combined with his looming, shaggy figure, he tends to be exceedingly intimidating. Despite his frightening appearance, though, he prefers hunting to fighting. He sees cats from other clans as below him and was very miffed he had to stay behind and guard camp as a young warrior when Ridgeclan tried to rightfully claim the Mooncave. He aligns well with the Mars mentality and whether or not he regrets his former treatment of Ant now that they're gone is open to interpretation, especially since his mother and father think them dead. He will likely be the second to discover Ant is not, in fact, dead when they join the Kingdom - the group of traitors he does not have a high opinion of. [This is the image to the left and I would prefer Lightscreech to remain a flamepoint of some kind, though he could be a red or cream colorpoint.] |

Ant's former apprentice, Shadetalon was not happy to be given the clanless runt as a mentor. They were even less impressed when they left his side in the middle of Ridgeclan's biggest battle to date and then went and died. Though he was raised a very close-minded cat by his family, the battle and its aftermath seemed reach Shadetalon; he was deeply spiritual cat but loosing someone important to him (not Ant but somebody else) in the battle for the Mooncave has turned him away from Starclan. When Laurelfern announced her newfound Kingdom, Shadetalon - very Pluto-minded at the time - only waited a moon before leaving Ridgeclan behind to join the Kingdom. He will likely be the first to run into Ant and discover she is alive when she joins the Kingdom in the future - how he handles that is up to you! [This is the image to the left, but Shadetalon could also be a gray bicolor or remain a black bicolor. His gender is open and any history aside from what is mentioned in Ant's bio is also up to you!] |
