Wolfkit was born to a clan cat named Mossflower. It was unknown to the clan who the father was, since Cloud, the father, was a loner. It was a hard labor for Mossflower, especially being alone, but she was gifted with five kits. Unfortunately, one was stillborn. However, the queen was still blessed to have four kits that were healthy and loud. She named the tom Snowpaw, and the three females as Featherkit, Milk-kit, and Wolfkit.

"Wolfkit? Why did you want to name a kit that?"
"That kit is destined to cause trouble with that name."
"There are so many other names that you can call your kit."

All the comments struck a nerve for the queen. "I've always liked the name. And I won't let him taint it forever; my little girl will take it from him."

Wolfkit early on, however, displayed mannerisms and behaviors that a tom kit would typically adopt. He was more similar to Snowpaw than his she-cat sisters. Given that, as she grew up, Wolfkit came to her mother and asked to be a tom. Mossflower was more than understanding and knew that Wolfkit was destined to have been born a tom. The queen began to speak of the kit as a tom, and the clan followed.

Wolfkit was the most protective of his siblings, and he was especially drawn to Milk-kit. Their polar opposite personalities were most likely the cause.

However, Wolfkit was subject to a lot of bullying from the other kits in the clan. They made fun of his name and told him that he would not amount to anything other than evil. This troubled the young kit, and he often turned to his mother for guidance. Mossflower was understanding of the issues, and told Wolfkit to prove that they were wrong once he was an apprentice.

Along with his siblings, Wolfkit was named Wolfpaw at 6 moons, and he was given the mentor of Briarpelt.

The bullying continued from already existing apprentices and those that came after Wolfpaw. The adolescent then started to struggle with his identity, but found it hard to reach out for help.

Pre-Plotting: Wolfpaw is an adoptable from Milkpaw's wanted ad, after all this time. In the Mistclan adoptables, Wolfpaw mostly identifies with Bark. Wolfpaw is fiercely loyal and protective of not only his family, but also his clan. Not knowing that he is half-Clan, half-loner, he strives to make his clan proud.

Wolfpaw struggles with his identity, as he shares the name of the infamous Wolfstar of Ridgeclan. It has caused a lot of issue for him mentally, and he still gets bullied as he climbs the ranks.

Wolfpaw is super close to his sister, Milkpaw.
