the kingdom's territory
Skywalker Camp
In the center of the western section of territory, just north of the mountain pass, the Skywalker camp is located on the summit of the tallest mountain, where the only protection from the elements is a few trees and the dens to shelter in. Skywalkers rely on the steep mountainsides to prevent threats from entering their camp and have gathered sticks and other foliage from the small amount of vegetation in their territory to build a wall along the outskirts of their base. They bunch their nests together beneath protruding rocks. The leader’s den is under the tallest rock, on top of which is where they make announcements, and the medic den has alcoves in the walls to store herbs.Nightwalker Camp
A short distance west of the lake, the Nightwalker camp can be found in a large, dark cave deep underground where the only light comes from a small gap in the ceiling. Nests are built in dips in the ground along the edges of the camp where the top of the cave is only a few tail-lengths above the floor. The entrance to the base is at the end of a short but narrow tunnel, concealed by a clump of ferns, that might prove to be a tight squeeze for above average-sized cats. The leader’s den is beneath an overhanging rock, which is where they stand to speak to the entire faction, and the medic den’s herb store is hidden in a hollowed out rock.Riverwalker Camp
Located on the eastern corner of where the lake feeds the river, there is a constant source of water to practice combat and fishing in. The ground is rugged here with only a few patches of grass peeking out between each smooth-surfaced boulder. The camp is protected by the river on one side and the sheer wall of a mountain on the other. The dens are caves gouged out on the face of the mountain with a trail allowing easy access to each entrance. Flooding is common during heavy rain, which is when those residing in the lower caves relocate to the higher ones. The leader’s den is in the center of all the dens and they make announcements from the protruding rock outside of it. There are two medic dens, one closer to the ground for everyday use and one higher up for when it floods. The herb stores are carved into the walls.Lake
The lake is a tranquil place to escape, located in a basin at a high altitude, which is found in the middle of the northern part of the territory. All around it, the mountains slope down to give way to a rocky surface along the edge of the water. Vegetation is a tad more common here, particularly on the western side of the lake, but boulders are still abundant. The water is still and silent, which makes the lake’s shore the perfect spot to ponder in the peace and quiet. A river pours out of it, through a mountain pass and continues south toward clan territory.River
The river begins in the lake in the north and travels south, through the heart of the territory, until it plummets down a waterfall and then it proceeds to act as a border for the clans. At the top of the waterfall and at a few other points along the river, there are dangerous rapids every cat is warned to avoid. The river’s edge is made of ragged rocks that are capable of tearing softer paw pads, but it does have spots where the boulders are even, which make popular places to sunbathe. A short distance from the waterfall is a tree bridge that cats use to cross the river.Scree
The scree is a hazardous area on the eastern side of the lake. The slopes of the mountains there lead down toward the lake and are covered in stones and boulders. Some of the rocks are loose here and may tumble down the side of the mountain at a carelessly-placed step, so it’s drilled into the minds of the cats of The Kingdom to watch where they put their paws on the scree. Typically, only the more experienced cats navigate the scree, but rebellious apprentices might also dare each other to climb it.Gorge
In the northeast part of the territory is a massive gorge with a rushing river running along the bottom of it. The gorge is an incredibly dangerous part of the territory and most cats steer clear of it in fear of falling in. The mountain walls on either side of the river are precipitous and jagged, and the current is much too strong to swim against. Massive boulders, some with pointed tops, poke out from the water, which washes over them and creates slippery surfaces.Mountain Pass
The mountain pass marks The Kingdom’s shared border with RidgeClan. The path, formed by a winding stream that has since dried up, starts near the river and leads down to the foot of the mountains in the west. At some points, one side of the pathway turns into a steep drop, but along most of it, two mountainous walls border the trail. It’s a rugged path and young, inexperienced cats are warned to be extra cautious while moving along it.Treeline
The Kingdom shares a border with MistClan they call the treeline, where trees and undergrowth become more and more sparse the farther they go up the mountainsides. The soft vegetation that grows on the lower half of the mountains here fade away to rocks and the infrequent patches of alpine plants, such as moss and sedge. Like most of The Kingdom’s territory, loose stones pose a risk to those who don’t know the area well.
