mistclan plot views
Beneath the quiet, thoughtful veneer that MistClan presents to its neighbors, turmoil brews. In the wake of the attack on their heartland, with many lost and more injured, confidence is shaken, and opinions are divided on how best to rebuild their Clan.
Pressure mounts as MistClan withdraws from their neighbors, fostering a sense of threats on all side. The flames of distrust are only fanned as loners are scented on their territory, and kits go missing from the nursery.
Hysteria threatens to break out, clamoring for answers, what to do and who to blame, whether they should track the loners down and demand answers—though some seem to believe that the RidgeClan refugees are at fault.
Many balk at the possibility of violence so soon after their devastating battle with RidgeClan; with many cats who've lost their lives, and more still recovering from their injuries, can MistClan stand alone in this dire time?

ROOTS | ∞ Amid the tumultuous relationships with their neighbors, it's even more important now to stand firm in the traditions of MistClan. Cats of the Roots find value in independence and self-sufficiency, urging their Clanmates to turn away from the politics of the other Clans and focus on repairing their own foundations. The other Clans have always had their petty concerns and squabbles, and MistClan shouldn't get involved with messy politics instead of their own wellbeing. The Roots are proud and self sufficient, putting more stock in practicality and problem-solving than complaining or picking fights with their neighbors. |
BRANCHES | ∞ In order to survive, trees must cast their branches wide to make connections and discover new opportunities. Cats of the Branches take this mentality to heart, finding strength in the diversity of their peers. They understand that too much isolation will spell destruction for any plant—and it's the same for MistClan. These cats believe that cutting off friendship with PrairieClan was a mistake, one that must be remedied soon. Even the proudest tree cannot stand alone. Many of them even believe that reaching out to RidgeClan in this time is vital, that mending their relationship is the only way for the valley to heal. Branches tend to be great mediators, willing to put aside their own beliefs in favor of taking a look at both sides of an argument and figuring out the best solution for everyone. |
LEAVES | ∞ Much like the leaves going through cycles of death and rebirth, there are cats who believe that MistClan must change. The cats of the Leaves see the stagnancy caused by MistClan's isolation and the rut of tradition dragging down its potential growth. Cats of this mindset may even believe that the Historian is a detriment to MistClan, keeping them rooted in the past instead of focusing on the present and future. They may take different directions with their desire for change, allying themselves with any of the other roles, but will retain their core belief for change and renewal. Cats of the Leaves believe that differing opinions aid in creating a stronger whole, and may often engage in discussions with those of different viewpoints in order to broaden their own horizons. |
BARK | ∞ Bark stands as a tree's primary defense, forming a shield against outside threats—whether by its toughness, adaptability, or even its thorns. In the face of threats on every side, cats of the Bark stand at the ready to defend their home with any means necessary. The loners trespassing on their land and stealing their prey are to be met with tooth and claw, and so are any threats from the neighboring Clans. MistClan's reluctance to take a stand in the past has only led to bloodshed, as demonstrated by the way MistClan leadership didn't take Wolfstar's threat seriously until it was too late. Even a moment of indecision can cost the lives of their Clanmates. Cats of the Bark often take on a protective role for those around them, speaking up when their peers are unsure, and bearing the burden of defense in times of hardship. |

SAPLINGS | Open: 1/3 Refugees have come from RidgeClan to enter MistClan's ranks, with a multitude of reasons behind them, whether it be to help defend against the power-hungry Wolfstar or just to seek out a more peaceful life. This new growth will face struggles previously unknown to them as they must make their space, cultivate their own sense of belonging among cats already deeply rooted in their ancestral forest. Such a secretive Clan, already wounded in their relationship with RidgeClan, may look on the Saplings with distrust, but there are those who extend branches of peace and understanding. There is hope, of course, for the most tenacious saplings in the forest. Dawnclaw, Goosefire |
SYCAMORE | Wispfang This cat hates RidgeClan, who they hold responsible for damaging the peace that had settled over the entire valley before Wolfstar waged war. They may have also been terribly wronged by RidgeClan in other ways that has resulted in the Sycamore fostering an intense hatred for the entirety of RidgeClan. They think RidgeClan has yet to face the consequences of their actions and they call for them to be exiled from the valley. Sycamore likely aligns with Leaves, those who desire change, or Bark, cats who are protective of MistClan, or even both. |
WILLOW | Riversong Willow only wants peace between the Clans. They believe the damage is done, but that it’s time to recover and that means the Clans need to come together to heal. They might also think the best way to mend the broken bond between the Clans is to make the Mooncave neutral territory, like the gathering place. No Clan, no matter what, should own the Mooncave. This cat affiliates with the role of Branches or Leaves in MistClan’s plot adoptables and they may also be a Sapling. |
OAK | Elkpaw This cat is probably the most dedicated to the search for MistClan’s missing kits. Whether they have a close connection to the family or have experienced something similar in their past or just want to be able to say they found them, they have made it their life’s goal to track down these kits. The Oak of MistClan wants nothing more than to bring these innocent children home. |
SPRUCE | Salamanderpaw Whether this cat blames outsiders for MistClan’s missing kits or believes they have nothing to do with it, Spruce is of the opinion that the outsider issue needs to be tackled. Outsiders have wandered over the border into their territory and rumor is that one or more of them might be in the business of stealing kits. Spruce may not know who took the kits, but they do know that the outsider problem must be solved. If desired, this role can lead to severe injury or even death for Spruce. Spruce can align with any role, but the most likely ones are Bark, those who protect what they love in what might be considered an aggressive manner, and Branches, made up of cats who prefer to take a calmer approach. |
BIRCH | Goosefire Birch is working with a RidgeClan cat, but there’s a chance they’re working with MistClan, too. There are many reasons why they’ve chosen to work with a RidgeClan cat, one of them being an attempt to reach a peaceful resolution to the conflict between their Clans. Another reason may be that Birch wants information to use against RidgeClan, or maybe they support RidgeClan and want to give them information to use against MistClan. Depending on Birch’s reasons for working with a RidgeClan cat, they can relate to any role, but they probably don’t align with Roots. |
