violetkit, prairieclan kit | she/her | 469 words |
"'Tis I, Violetstar of PrairieClan!"
From atop a nearby branch, Violetkit had already perched herself above the entrance to the nursery, which thankfully, given that it was no more than hole burrowed under the roots of a tree, meant that the kit was no more than a few tail-lengths above the ground. Though for some kits, perhaps it seemed like several fox-lengths, Violetkit would find no fear in climbing up to a spot in order to make herself seem a grandeur.
There was an almost presumptuous attitude that she believed that kits would automatically play in her game, but she didn't want to play with just any old kit anyways. The idea of her sister, Asterkit, meddling her boring and bitter nose into her games made her stomach churn. But not Pearkit, who Violetkit often preferred to spend her time with and play games with. He loved to not just play along with her games, but even one-up them in a way that made the games more exciting every time. He was a perfect "yes, and" playmate.
When Violetkit's green eyes flashed to her friend below, she stood even taller on her mini leader perch. "Pearstar! I see you have come to try and reclaim your position!" she bellowed as loud as her little kit body would allow for her. Perhaps it was really only loud enough to bother some nearby sleeping elder, but Violetkit certainly did not worry. She had important political games to play with her friends, and that was more important than boring nap-time. After all, the elders were so old and had already spent so much of their lives napping! It seemed boring and tedious to her when there were so many more things to do out in the world, so many places to conquer and positions that she would one day fill.
Violetkit gave a mock scoff of disapproval as her roleplay continued: "You'll never take PrairieClan back. I shall see us to a new dawn! A great future awaits PrairieClan under my rule, and I shall not have you or anyone else stop me!" With her great proclamation that bordered on the sounds of a tyrannical leader to absolutely no one except Pearkit, she prepared herself for whatever her friend might come up with next. She admittedly wasn't entirely sure whether or not Pearkit was comfortable enough climbing up to meet her on her high perch, but she trusted that if it wasn't the case, he would find his own way into making the game fun. Maybe they could begin to play into the complicated politics of an old leader trying to reclaim their position? Certainly it was the politics of StarClan that Violetkit didn't fully understand just yet at her young age, but that wouldn't stop her from pretending.
