appearance
Swiftwind is a broad-shouldered tom with an athletic build. He isn't bulky and large as many toms can be, but leaner due to his love for running through the prairie. He's quite tall due to his long legs, and he has an abnormally long tail that aids him in making quick turns while hunting or fighting. He has a soft calico pelt, a combination of large russet and black patches. On his head, tortoishell markings appear as the two shades somewhat blend together. Starting above his eyes is a blaze that covers his muzzle, dappled with pumpkin hues. This blaze bleeds onto his throat and underbelly. He has pretty leaf-green eyes.
description
Silverstripe and Sparrowflight were a surprising pair. Silverstripe, though beautiful, had been known for her sharp tongue and bitter attitude, while Sparrowflight was quite the opposite. Someway, somehow, the pair liked one another enough to produce kits. Any affection Silverstripe had harbored towards the tom seemed to melt away almost immediately, as she constantly complained about how he'd "stolen prime warrior time" from her. Her hisses and growls chased the tom away throughout the pregnancy, and she would give birth alone.
Assuming she would love the kits and in turn give their coupling another shot, Sparrowflight would visit the queen. "They're beautiful, Silverstripe! What have you named them?" he asked happily. The silver molly hardly gave him a look, growling her response. "Names? All I've thought about is leaving them to the other queens so I can continue my life." Hurt, but not surprised, Sparrowflight took it upon himself to name the kits. "Fine, they will be Finchkit, Rookkit, and Swiftkit. I'll leave you alone but please, don't leave them." Without giving her an opportunity to respond, Sparrowflight spun around and left with his tail flicking in agitation.
From the moment he opened his eyes, Swiftkit felt unwanted. His mother wouldn't groom him or his littermates, only staying in the den long enough to feed them throughout the day. Thus, the three kits were mostly tended to by the other queens in the den. They would learn to live with this. Swiftkit always tried to entertain his littermates, coming up with games to play or making up stories to tell them; it was the only way he knew how to cope with their situation. Still, on the inside he was deeply bothered by his parents' absence. Sparrowflight had kept his promise, rarely if ever visiting the kits. Swiftkit was incredibly curious about his father, but got to know him only through gossip and stories from his clanmates. Rookkit would give him the nickname "Swifty" which seemed to stick among others.
Finchkit seemed especially affected by Silverstripe's toxicity, quickly becoming withdrawn and quiet. Feeling bad, Swiftkit tried his best to relate to his littermate, but he found it agonizing to speak about serious subjects. As time passed, the brothers would become more distant as Larkkit served as a sort of glue to keep them together. Swiftkit found himself avoiding his brother once they became apprentices, afraid of hurting his feelings.
Swiftpaw was assigned to an unusually young mentor, a tom named Houndjaw, who'd come from MistClan. Regardless of the whispers of doubt he heard about his mentor's abilities, Swiftpaw was excited to train. "So what's our training plan?" he would ask. Houndjaw looked taken aback, gritting his teeth as he thought. "Er...I'm not sure, kit. How about we figure it out as we go along? We can work together to make you the best warrior. Life's not always run by plans." Houndjaw would serve as an older brother figure to Swiftpaw, teaching him to be laid back and playful. They would discover Swiftpaw's ability to outrun a good many cats, his long legs and tail sending him flying through the prairie. So caught up having fun, Swiftpaw pushed the traumas his parents inflicted to the back of his mind.
Swiftpaw would pass his assessment with flying colors, he and Rookpaw having their ceremony together. Guilt would stir within him as he caught Finchpaw's gaze among the crowd. Why wasn't he up there with them? "I name you Swiftwind, for your agility and speed. And Rookpaw, you will be Rookflight, for your impressive hunting abilities. May you both serve your clan with loyalty and strength." Swiftwind couldn't help but feel proud as he heard his clanmates cheer his name, he and his sister exchanging starry-eyed glances. As they faced the crowd, Swiftwind would notice his father shouting out his name. Silverstripe looked on from the edge of the crowd. He was surprised when Sparrowflight approached them. "Congratulations, you two. I know I haven't been the best father to you, but I'm proud to hunt and fight at your side." he mewed, dipping his head. Swiftwind smiled awkwardly ans excused himself, running into Finchpaw next. "Um...Don't worry, Finchpaw. You'll get your name any day now!" he said, trying to reassure the tom if he felt any envy or disappointment.
The longer it took his brother to get his warrior name, the more he avoided him. Best to keep your distance in those cases, right? Despite their mentor-apprentice relationship, he and Thornfur would grow to be best friends over the next few moons, Swiftwind always teasing him that he was faster and stronger than him already.
When Finchleap finally passed his assessments, Swiftwind found he was a much more confident and outgoing cat. Placed on patrols together, he found it much easier to talk to his brother. With Rookflight's encouragement, Swiftwind decided to try to befriend his brother again.
personality
Swiftwind has always been a very even-tempered cat. Even when he's angered or irritated, he would rather try to let it go than face conflict. This trait stems from his parents' avoidance of he and his littermates. As an adult, the tom would sooner clam up and say everything's okay than talk about anything of a serious matter regarding his past. He is also a push-over in this sense, which can result in others walking over him because he finds it hard to assert himself at times. Besides this, Swiftwind loves to exercise and play. He is still known for his silly, boisterous nature. He's almost always in high spirits and jumps at any opportunity to get out onto the prairie and run. He also commonly volunteers to spar apprentices in training. He is also quite funny and jokes around with almost every cat.
His pride in himself as a warrior can lead him to do dumb things sometimes, like charging into situations he doesn't fully understand. He also can forget he isn't invincible and has gotten hurt because of this. In a serious nature, the cat is a good asset to have. He is clever and it is easy for him to problem solve, and his agility and quickness makes him a difficult opponent.

relations
Pre-Plotting: Swiftwind is Finchleap's brother. He also aligns with Sage in his clan's plot adoptables.
Family: If asked, Swiftwind will say he doesn't have any issues with his family, tending to avoid bringing up the drama. However, he is estranged from his mother (because she sucks) and is cordial with his father. As for his littermates, he is closer to Rookflight as of now and is trying to become friends with his brother.
Friends: He loves making friends. In fact, these are the cats he finds it easier to get close to. He enjoys funny, good-natured cats and can honestly befriend almost anyone.
Romance: He has had crushes in the past on older warriors as many starstruck adolescents can. He would be open to flirtations and casual romances, afraid of settling down.
Rivals: Swiftwind may have cats he doesn't like, but he'd just ignore them.
