appearance
A muscular, white tom with bicolor eyes.
-
With big paws and bigger ears, Cloudpaw stands out among the rest of his siblings. His all-white coat adds to the effect, giving him a perfect resemblance to their namesake. Only in the right lighting, if you look close enough, can you see the faintest gray tabby markings on his forehead. He has one green eye and one blue eye and has minor vision loss in the blue eye.
Though large for a young apprentice now, Cloudpaw's growth will eventually slow down and place him just on the larger side of average for MistClan.

description
Cloudkit is born ready. He tumbles out of his mother just moments after his older brother, loud and writhing amidst the nursery moss. He knows what he wants immediately - attention, affection, and milk, in that order. Later, other queens will comment to Riversong that Cloudkit was a born leader, just like his father.
Kitten-soft and wispy, coming up with a name for Cloudkit is easy. He's named before the next kit is even born, snuggled up to his mother's belly, a stark contrast to Dewkit's barely-breathing form, mewling for more attention as Swankit and then Stormkit come into the world. Only after he's surrounded by the warmth of his siblings does Cloudkit finally settle into something resembling rest.
In the early moons of his life, Cloudkit develops a reputation as Riversong's loudest and most troublesome kit, but is also known for being caring and cheerful. He doesn't like leaving others behind, though that usually means forcing others to meet his standards, rather than adapting to what someone needs. By four moons old, Cloudkit is the most social kit in the nursery, forcing his way into hanging out with other litters, apprentices, or even warriors if they get too close to the nursery. The elders' den is a frequent haunt of his, if only because of all the attention he receives.
"Not much like Hailstar," the elders tell him. "He was a quiet kit. But that's good, 'cause you can make a name for yourself." Cloudkit chooses to take that as a compliment. In many ways, he wants to be like his father - a leader, respected, strong. But Hailstar is pretty stoic, and Cloudkit prefers the more gregarious senior warriors and elders, like Russetstripe and Curlycloud.
At five moons old, the only thing on Cloudkit's mind is who his future mentor will be. He stays up late at night speculating with his siblings, especially Stormkit, who he can't stand sometimes but has to admit has good ideas. "Dad already said we'll only have one mentor," he says, reminding them all that the have to pick one favorite. "And I get first dibs."
"Shouldn't Dewkit get first dibs? He's oldest..."
"Cloudkit is the biggest," Swanpaw points out. Cloudkit nods his agreement.
"That's true! And I pick Spiderleap." He puffs his chest out confidently. "He's big, too."
In the end, their favorites don't seem to matter. Cloudpaw is assigned Frostfeather for his mentor. At first, he feels anger in his chest - why did Hailstar give him her? She wasn't strong like Spiderleap or confident like Wispfang. She was just... his aunt! Didn't she even leave the clan for a bit?
But... Frostfeather is Hailstar's sister. Maybe he had something planned there? Trying to be the mature apprentice he wants others to think he is, Cloudpaw chokes down his disappointment and touches noses with his aunt. The way she smiles at him makes him embarrassed he ever doubted her. In that moment, it was clear to him - Hailstar and Frostfeather did have a plan. He would just have to wait and see!

relations
Pre-Plotting: Cloudpaw is the second-born of Riversong and Webfrost's litter. He will grow up believing Hailstar is his father.
Family: Right now, family is all Cloudpaw knows. He loves playing with his siblings and annoying his mother, though he'd like it if the rest of his litter was a little more boisterous like him. For him, family is a point of pride as well, not just a source of fun. As Hailstar's child, Cloudpaw has a sense of superiority over other apprentices, and believes that sense is deserved just based on who his father is.
Friends: Cloudpaw's first friends were the kits he was born alongside. He loves his siblings, but now that they're apprentices, he's starting to realize he really struggles to get along with them all. Even Swanpaw angers him sometimes, though Cloudpaw loves him the most. Now he's making new friends among MistClan's apprentices and learning what it means to be friends with someone outside of the blood that ties them together.
Romance: In the future, Cloudpaw will seek out a cat that can support him in following his father's pawsteps. Someone who makes him better. Until then, he barely even knows what a crush is.
Rivals: As Cloudpaw grows in his belief that having Hailstar for a father makes him better than other cats, he'll surely accrue plenty of rivals among cats his age.
