appearance
Rumpled and gangly tortoiseshell she-cat yellow eyes
At first glance, the she-cat is the vision of demurity. The she-cat is underwhelming: a petite package with few extruding angles or shapes. She possesses a rather delicate stature, even when compared to her clanmates. Underneath the fur, her stature consists of gentle curves and a few angles. Her limbs are slender and bird-like, emphasizing her narrow build. Even the fur on her tail does not extend outwards by far, a slim appendage with few feathers.
Despite the fragility afflicting her early years, Cinderblaze's passion for physical prowess, long hikes, and endurance training as an apprentice more than made up for it. Her weight is concentrated around her haunches and legs, making her appear more stout than streamlined. The long tresses making up her fur add to a delicate demeanor belying the fire underneath. The hue of her fur has darkened as she aged - but the beauteous speckles of amber and tan across a chocolate mask remained.
Distinctive chiseled lines come together to form a captivating visage. Cinderblaze's face is covered in a chocolate mask, with vibrant amber and beige speckles.
description
“…to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair” Isaiah 61:3
Cinderkit was the youngest of three - her meager existence a feeble seedling where strong roots should've set down. Her siblings lay cold, defeated in the earth, despite being older and more fit than her. Two stillborns — a bad sign for the first-time queen. Sandpelt, her mother, shot the other queens resentful gazes before giving the kit so vigorous a grooming that she soon nursed like the others. Within a few days at suck, Cinderkit caught up to the other kits in the nursery and so the troubling circumstances of her birth were soon forgotten.
Like any single child, Cinderkit received the lions share of her parents attention. During this time, she witnessed many disparities between her mother and father, many of which would lead to altercations and arguments that were distressing for the young kit. Rookstone, her father was a tom who despite leading through example, preached a gentler approach to parenthood. Especially since Cinderkit was very nearly stillborn. Anything could happen to his daughter. His cherished one who had only just escaped death. He would've gladly sheltered his daughter in the nursery forever had it not been for Sandpelt insisting on maintaining a "normal" image of their daughter, a daughter who would grow up among Ridgeclan's strongest. Where Rookstone's demeanor was like a gentle river, Sandpelt was coarse and gritty like the sandbed for which she was named.
Cinderkit wound up facing different duties and requirements from each of her parents. Rookstone pushing her towards domestic duties, building responsibility, while Sandpelt favoured tussling and independent pursuits. When her parents disgreed on anything, she witnessed shouting matches that left her scrambling for a different nest.
Even more unbearable was the pitying glances from her peers and their parents. Queens clicked their tongues and shook their heads - saying words like "Poor dear." or "Sweet child, does it scare you when your parents shout so?" Reminded constantly of her status as the lastborn, she mistakes their kindness for condecension. The queens were promptly spurned from her company, and her days instead occupied by getting under warriors's paws, nabbing prey too big for her, and in general, conveying a boisterous attitude shocking for one so small. It got her noticed for acting out, even if for all the wrong reasons.
Cinderkit was one of many who interpreted the fallen tree as a calling. She'd been told her whole life up until this point that her delicate health and ill-circumstanced birth would hold her back. She snuck out of the nursery and into the company of unwitting elders and the older apprentices, filling her head with visions of fire and starlight weaving silk across the skies in enigmatic patterns.
In conjunction with Cinderkit's stubborn personality, Wolfstar aptly allowed her to study under Sparrowhawk, one of his strongest fighters and a grueling taskmaster. Through her mentor, Cinderpaw unveiled a new side of Ridgeclan. Under the facade of strength and grandeur, a fire was kindling underneath. Drilling from sundown to sunset, toiling up steep mountains and stooping into crouches until her limbs trembled, may not seem like bonding intuitively; yet where most Ridgeclans' senior warriors offered little beyond grueling toil and unreasonable demands, Sparrowhawk was a far more perceptive mentor, not merely hard-handed. Keenly able to break down her deficiencies, the gully between Cinderpaw and her peers, she set her apprentice to work with relentless passion.
The carefully curated approach Sparrowhawk used ensured Orchdpaw's small size was not a hindrance. As even cornered rabbits bite eventually.
to-do: apprentice
- swiftcloud dies and a new oracle rises to power; noticaebly more devout and fanatical in their beliefs
- training with hawk; they get along reasonably despite differences in personality and their differing ideologies. Hawk doesn't pity her at least.
- 10 mns; sunstorm approaches her mother with a betrothal offer; her hand for dawnpaw's
- warrior assessment sunstorm asks for her and dawnpaw to bring back a hawk as per ridgeclan tradition.
- the hunt goes badly; dawn kills the hawk while Cinder's badly injured on her shoulder. she's forced to stay a whole two moons in the medicine den, delaying her warrior name.
- during this time hawktail informs her that sunstorm has called off the betrothal. the good news is that she won't have to settle down as a queen.

- she reluctantly keeps the secret about duskfang and fireflylight - if not for the sole reason of blackmail down the line.
- being around her family, who's ideologies differ her from her own, is stressful. sandpelt especially pushes her daughter towards positions of power, urging her to side with wolfstar more often than not.

personality
Cinderblaze's personality belies her diminutive size. In a clan fond of cold hearts and quiet whispers, she stands out as a beacon of warmth. Highly gregarious, the she-cat thrives in group settings, where her knack for conversation and easygoing charisma make her a skilled conversationalist. Due to the fact that she grew up as an only child, Cinderblaze grew up with a communal viewpoint on clan life. She believes that she does not merely owe her duties to her family and name, but her clan too. The she-cat can often be found assisting other warriors in their duties, whether it's towards a rebellious apprentice or a communal hunt.

Cleansing Fire's Crucible: Despite the hardships Cinderblaze has undergone in her life, the she-cat's fire remains undiminished. She's always seeking ways to nurture resilience and strength in her body, and maintains an optimistic outlook in her life. As such, Cinderblaze embodies change — not vengeance, and has come to love her clan rather than resent it for the pain she's endured. She believes that buried in pain laid the necessary lessons needed for her to become the strong, independent she-cat she is today. Within Ridgeclan's plot roles, Cinderblaze aligns with Saturn and best fills the Comet plot adoptable. The she-cat is loyal to her core. Rather than gazing upon Starclan with hatred and disdain, Cinderblaze has always fostered a healthy connection with her ancestors. She wishes only that her clanmates would do the same. Walking away from Ridgeclan is a sign of defeat — and the she-cat would rather die than give up an identity she's sacrificed so much for. She is not part of a plot ad.
Fallen Angel: The root of her problems. Even before the war, Cinderblaze was on rocky terms with her kin, bearing the brunt of her mother's anger growing up and retreating in anguish when she was ultimately disowned. Even now, the pain is fresh as if it occured yesterday. She treats her two younger siblings with great care, walking a fine path between the progressive beliefs Ridgeclan needs to embrace in order to advance, and the traditional ones the two apprentices have grown up with.
Knowledge borne on old wings: With a bold and can-do attitude, Cinderblaze wants an apprentice to come out of their training well-rounded and confident. Rather than doing all the teaching herself through lectures or demonstrations, her training will involve a mixture of hands-on experience and lecture. This allows her apprentice to show her what they've learned in a safe environment free of judgement. Despite being a progressive maverick, Cinderblaze recognizes the importance of social awareness within her clan. Therefore, she will aim for a balanced curriculum which will cover awareness of Ridgeclan’s social evolution as well as the basic grunt work. Expect her to include topics including diplomacy, analysis of the clan's social structure and constructs, the role social classes play in the everyday lives of Ridgeclan cats, and the differences between conservative and progressive political beliefs. She aims to teach her apprentice not to feel ashamed of their weaknesses, but to be aware of them and develop strategies to work around them.
